All of the proceeds from the event went to the building of the first Fisher House in the Midwest. A Fisher House is a “home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and Veteran Affairs (VA) medical centers. The Fisher House will be built on the grounds of the Hines VA Hospital, located 12 miles west of downtown Chicago. “Not only is this the first Fisher House to be built in the Midwest, but this was the first celebrity event for our organization. We are excited to be the recipient,” said James D. Weiskopf, vice president of communications for the Fisher House Foundation, Inc.
