DEPARTMENT OF CITYWIDE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES MAYORS GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Mayor's Graduate Scholarship Program (MGSP) provides scholarship opportunities for full- time New York City government employees who are considering pursuing graduate study. Through the generosity of New York area colleges and universities, and in cooperation with the city of New York’s Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), full and partial scholarships are offered for graduate study in the areas of business and public administration, public policy analysis, computer science, law, engineering, and other profession specific programs.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Prospective applicants must: Be a full-time city government employee. Have obtained an undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university or have completed an undergraduate degree by the fall of the academic year during the application period. Remain a full-time city government employee throughout his/her course of study. Meet the minimum scholarship requirements listed in the DCAS scholarship offering guide (e.g., some schools may require that you be a new entrant to the institution). All courses will be attended on applicants own time.

Prospective applicants may apply for more than one (1) scholarship, but will only be allowed to accept one (1) award. A separate application must be submitted for each school. Prospective applicants should direct questions concerning admission requirements, entry exams, and transcripts to the college or university of interest.
APPLICATION PROCESS 1. MGSP application packages may be downloaded from the Department of Citywide Administrative Services website: http://www.nyc.gov/mgsp. 2. Read all instructions and review the scholarship offering guide for the school(s) matching your interest and personal needs before completing materials. The quality of your application will be an important consideration in the selection process. 3. Request an application from the participating college/university of interest, and apply for admission. Attach a letter of intent (which is included with the MGSP application) to the admissions application stating your intent to apply for a Mayor's Graduate Scholarship. 4. Completed applications must be returned to the Scholarship Unit, Police Academy, Room 803B no later than October 31, 2013 so that additional processing can be facilitated prior to forwarding the applications to DCAS.
Applications received after the October 31, 2013 deadline will not be accepted.
