Where do we go from here?

Possible Next Steps

 Start/continue a dialogue group or book study at church or on your own.  Participate in local events (MLK Day, forums and lectures, etc.).  Educate yourself and your family through conversations, books, and films.  Subscribe to relevant podcasts, Facebook pages, blogs, etc.  Volunteer in church ministries that promote cross-racial engagement and encounter.  Support local, state, and national organizations working for racial justice (see the list below).  Speak up when friends, relatives, colleagues, or strangers say racially-biased or offensive things. Practice being an upstander rather than a bystander.  Help organize future speakers/movie nights/book studies at your church.  Visit museums that feature exhibits on racial history.  Evaluate and speak out about racial dynamics/policies in your neighborhood, community, schools, church, places of business, etc.  Support the emerging Latino/Latina/Latinx ministry of our diocese.  Visit spaces and businesses in town that are owned or frequented by people of color – restaurants, small businesses, theaters, etc.  Learn about local issues affecting people of color and be an advocate.
