Th e dinger was part of a four-run 4th inning that helped the PCL end a four-game skid and edge the International League, 6-4, in front of a sellout crowd at Tacoma’s Cheney Stadium. After trading runs in the 2nd inning, the 1-1 tie was broken in the 4th with a RBI single by Garrett Cooper of Colorado Springs. Two batters later Nunez delivered his big shot, earning honors as the PCL Top Star. Th e IL responded with two runs in the 5th, starting with a solo blast by Durham’s Willy Adames. Richie Shaff er of Columbus, who had already homered, then added an RBI double on his way to the IL’s Top Star award. Th e 30th annual Triple-A All-Star Game concluded when Memphis’ Ryan Sherriff and Iowa’s Matt Carasiti combined to close the door on a potential IL 9th inning rally.
