Workshop On Growth and Prospects of MSME Sector in emerging scenario

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) organized the “1st National Level Symposium on Growth and Prospects of MSME Sector in emerging scenario” on 8-9 January 2015 at Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The two day Symposium was attended by more than 400 delegates representing different Government Ministries, Industry, Industry Associations, Academia, Financial Institutions, Support Organizations and Experts connected with the Sector.

Safal Yuva, Yuva Bharat

Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities organized a One Day Workshop on Safal Yuva: Yuva Bharat: Life and Message of Swami Vivekananda on 27th February, 2015 at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. The event was conducted by Mr. Manas Bhattacharjee, Delhi Prant Sangathak and the volunteers of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Delhi Prant. The event aimed to equip the youths with the skill of transforming challenge into opportunity and inculcate leadership qualities in them. A book stall was also set up by the volunteers to display literature on Swami Vivekananda and to make the young generation aware with his global thoughts.

One Week ISTE STTP for Coordinators workshop on Environmental Studies National Mission on Education through ICT (MHRD, Govt. of India)

ISTE Coordinators Workshop on Environmental Studies under the National Mission on Education through ICT (MHRD, Govt. of India) was conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay during 23rd to 27th March 2015. Dr. Abhishek Swami, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities attended the workshop. The aim of the workshop was to train faculty coordinators from various educational institutions across the country for organizing the main STTTP workshop in their respective institutions scheduled during 02nd June to 12th June 2015.

Climate Change and its effects

Eco Club of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a Workshop on Awareness Program on Climate Change and Its Effect on World Meteorological Day on 23th March, 2015. The program is supported by UN Convention on Climate Change. The event aimed to create awareness in environmental issues. Mr. Anuj Kumar Dwivedi, City Coordinator, Green (R) evolution Action Against Climate Change ICCE conducted the session. The event began with the floral welcome of Mr. Dwivedi followed by the welcome note by Prof. S.K Bagga, Honorable Director, DGI, Gr. Noida. He stated that eco- system affects our day to day life directly and indirectly and it is completely our duty to check, maintain and achieve a balance in nature and eco-system.

Vimarsha on Yato Dharam: Tato Jay

Vivekanada Kendra KanyaKumari Delhi Branch organized Vimarsha on Yato Dharam: Tato Jay at Hansraj College Auditorium on 26th March 2015. Ma Nivedita Bhide, Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari and Dr. Rajkumar Bhatia President, National Democratic Teacher’s Front were the resource persons of the event. Dr. Shilpi Saxena Associate Professor from Department of Applied Sciences Dronacharya Group of Institutions Greater Noida attended the event as a delegate. The event aimed to reestablish and redefine the meaning of Dharma and its application in human life that leads to victory. The golden words Yato Dharam Tato Jay quoted in Indian Epic The Bhagwat Gita that means where there is Dharma there is victory.

Workshop on “Copyrights, Patent, Citation and their Impact Factor”

A Workshop on “Copyrights, Patent, Citation and their Impact Factor” was organized by Society of Social Development & People's Action and Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi on 25th April 2015 at the Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi. The Seminar was designed mainly to develop an understanding of various aspects of IPR like Patents, Copyrights and Impact Factor. Dr Neeraj Bala, Department of Applied Science and Humanities and Dr. Deepti,, IT Department from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended this workshop.

Sustainable Solutions for Access to Safe Water: Promotion Innovation and Collaboration

TERI (The Energy and Resource Institute) organized a two day seminar on “Sustainable Solution for access to Safe Water” at GNIOT Greater Noida on 21st- 22nd January, 2015. Mr. Amit Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering along with students Neha Srivastava (ECE), Prabhakar Kumar Gupta (ECE), Pooja Kumari (ECE), Ajay Bhwankan (CE), Pankaj Sharma (CE), Litty Thomas (CSE), Sooraj (CSE), Md. Danish(EEE), Ankit Tiwari (IT) and Gaurav Rajput (IT) participated in this seminar. First day (21st January, 2015) The seminar was inaugurated with the welcome address by Miss Monmi Barua, Research Associate, TERI. A documentary film was shown about the introduction to The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI) and Garima Kaushik explained the crucial points of the documentary.

International Conference on Arise, Awake and Stop Not : Reflections on Swami Vivekananda’s Global Thought

Rayat- Bahra Institute of Engineering & Nano Technology, Hoshiarpur, Punjab organized Two days International Conference on“Arise Awake and Stop Not: Reflections on Swami Vivekananda’s Global Thought” on 6th and 7th February, 2015. The conference was sponsored by Punjab Technical University. The conference aimed to spread Swami Vivekananda’s spiritual and philosophical thoughts and to explore the inner power of mankind. Dr. Shilpi Saxena, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noidaattended the event as a presentator.

Green Mobility Expo 2015

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), Department of Heavy Industry and Automotive Research Association of India organized “Green Mobility Expo 2015” from 26th to 28th February, 2015 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Dr. Neeraj Bala, Assistant Professor and Ms. Astha Malhotra, Assistant Professor from Department of Applied Science and Humanities, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida along with twenty B. Tech first year students visited the Green Mobility Expo on 28th February, 2015. The objective of the visit was to enhance technical knowledge about the innovative technologies in the field of Green Mobility.

Visit to Okhla Bird Sanctuary

A Nature Camp was organized by ECO CLUB of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on 10th February, 2015 at Okhla Bird Sanctuary, Noida. Dr. Neeraj Bala and Dr. S. K. Srivastava, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, along with 51 first year students visited the Okhla Bird Sanctuary. The visit aimed to make the students aware with the diversity of wildlife. Okhla Bird Sanctuary is about roughly 4 square Kilometers in size and situated at the entrance of Noida in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. There are more than 188 plants species and 320 bird species recorded here. Out of these, there were 20 common resident water bird species, 44 common resident woodland species and 43 migratory water birds. This predominately wetland reserve (established in 1990) is an important Bird Area (IBA), managed by the Forest Department. The sanctuary seems to be popular with joggers and photographers.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION

DGI NSS Wing Greater Noida participated in First International Yoga Day celebration on 21st June 2015 at Rajpath, New Delhi. Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Mrs. Bhanu Bhardwaj, Dr. Arindham Ghoshal, Mr. Abhishek Jha, Mr. Manjit Mishra, Mr. Anoop Kumar, Ms. Shailika Sharma, Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Mr. Anuj Verma, Mr. Amit Sharma and Dr. Anupam Kumar along with more than 150 DGI NSS Volunteers participated in the International Yoga Day. On June 21st 2015 (FINAL DAY) NSS Volunteer of DGI GREATER NOIDA along with faculty members reached Rajpath early in the morning at 3:30 AM. Over 35,000 people from across 84 nations gathered to perform 21 yoga asanas. Guinness Book of World Records acknowledged the event as the largest gathering of people practicing in a yoga event here.
