Apm Ajbuc Ulsbaitl DO NOT Cihculatt ALBANY PUBLIC LIBRARY CLIPPINGS FILE COLLECTION Apm ajBUC UlSBAItl DO NOT CiHCULATt ' -1. .•ri?' Funded in part through a New York State Conservation/Preservation Discretionary Grant, with technical support from Albany County Hall of Records ALBANY PUBLIC LIBRARY CLIPPINGS FILE COLLECTION This collection of local history newspaper clippings was compiled by librarians at the Albany Public Library. Most of the files are comprised of newspaper clippings dating from the nineteenth century to the 1980s; the majority from the period 1940 through 1980. In preparing this collection for microfilm, an effort was made to maintain the original arrangement and subject headings. SEE and SEE ALSO references are used to guide the user through the non-standard subject headings and inconsistent arrangement in the collection. Biographies are divided by specific groups as well as general biographies. Also biographies are listed under other subject names: Abraham Lincoln BIOGRAPHIES—LINCOLN, ABRAHAM U. S. PRESIDENTS—LINCOLN, ABRAHAM William Kennedy BIOGRAPHIES—KENNEDY, WILLIAM KENNEDY, WILLIAM KENNEDY CELEBRATION KENNEDY, WILLIAM—CHANGING FACE OF ALBANY KENNEDY, WILLIAM—VARIED TOPICS KENNEDY, WILLIAM—VARIOUS SERIES WRITTEN References to reel numbers and frame numbers are utilized for location purposes. However it is important to understand that frame numbers are used as general location indicators and numbering at times is incorrect. Material in the individual files was generally filmed in chronological order, however subject areas should be extensively searched for individual topics. The index for the collection is organized as follows; Example 1: FILE NAME LOCATION SEE SEE ALSO ALBANY ACADEMY SCHOOLS— SECONDARY- ALBANY ACADEMY Example 2: FILE NAME LOCATION SEE SEE ALSO KENNEDY, WILLIAM XV 1-3 BIOGRAPHIES— KENNEDY, WILLIAM/ KENNEDY CELEBRATION/ MOTION PICTURE/ KENNEDY, WILLIAM- CHANGING FACE OF ALBANY August 11, 1989 Albany Public Library CLIPPINGS FILE 1 FILE NAME LOCATION SEE SEE ALSO ABC«TICN I 1-7 PLANNED PARENTBOOD ASSOCIANCN/ CHURCHES ACTION PARTY (PCXiTnCAL) I 21-24 PCajTICS AND GOVERNMENT/ AI£ANY INDEPENIENr MOVEMENT/ CITIZEKS UNITED REFORM EEFORT (CURE) ADULT EDUCATICN I 8-19 SCHOCXJ BOARD/ MANPOWER DEVELCFMENT AND TRAINM; CENTER/ SCHOOJS/ WORLD WAR, 1939-1945—SCHOMJS AIR TERMINAL AIRPORT/ AVIATICN AIRPORT ^CJC.*/ -> I 24-136' AVIATKN/ PLANNING ALBANY ACAMMY ' SCHOCIB—SBCCNDARY- AIBANY ACADEMY AIBANY ADULT EDUCATION CENTER AND COUNCIL ADULT EDUCAnON AIBANY AREA CHAMBER (X OCMMERCE AREA CHAMBER (F OCMMERCE AIBANY ARTISTS CROUP ARTISTS OROUP AIBANY ARTS (»FICE ARTS OFFICE ALBANY BUSINESS SCHOOJ SCHOCOjS—UPPER EDUCATICN—AIBANY BUSINESS CCUBGE AIBANY CHAMBER (F CCHMERCE AREA CHAMBER (F COMMERCE AIBANY COUMIRY CLUB CLUBS—CORNIRY CUBS—AIBANY OOUWIRY CLUB AIBANY COUNTY CHARTER PCXJITICS AND GOVERNMENT—COUNTY CHARTER AIBANY GIRLS ACAISMY SCHOOLS—SBOCNDARY— AIBANY GURLS ACADEMY AIBANY HOME FOR CHILDREN HOME FOR CHILKREN AIBANY INDEFENESNT MOVEMENT (AIM) XIV 361-372 GOVERNMENT AND PCLmCS/ CHURCHES/ ACTICN PARTY/ CITIZENS UNITED REFORM EFFORT (CURE) August 11, 1989 Albany Public Library CLIPPINGS FILE SEE ALSO FILE NAME LOCATION SHE AI£ANY INSmUTE (F THE CFERA, DRAMA, AND XIV 449-451 MUSIC/ THEATER/ ARnST ®OUP/ ARTS THEATRICAL ARTS (FFICE ART/ ARTIST ®COP AlfANY lEAGUE OF ARTS XV 160-165 I 137-153 CLINICS—sr.
