Goodrington Sands

• Description:Goodrington Sands is a huge sandy beach on the outskirts of . The beach is very popular in summer and facilities are close to the beach. There is also a nice park area behind the beach with boating lake • Safety:No details available • Access:Youngs Park car park is a few minutes walking to the beach, the Quay West car park is about 5 minutes walking and the route is suitable for wheel chairs. On the beach promenade there is level access at various points on the southern part of the beach. Past Middlestone there are various access points along the promenade, include steps and slipways • Dogs:Dogs banned 1st May to 30th September on the south part of the beach. Dogs allowed all year north of Middlestone • Directions:Paignton is 29 miles from and 24 miles from . From Exeter take the A38 and shortly after Exeter take the A380 (signposted to ) and follow the A380 past to the outskirts of Paignton. To avoid Paignton town centre continue on the A380 until the Tweenaways Cross crossroads and drive straight across onto the A3022. Alternatively from the Plymouth direction, take the A38 and at Marley Head turn onto the A385 (signposted to Paignton) and continue on the A385 through to the outskirts of Paignton and at the Tweenaways Cross crossroads turn right onto the A3022. Continue on the A3022 and at the Long Road crossroads turn left onto Goodrington Road. Continue on this road for about 1 mile and then at a junction turn left onto the A379. Continue on the A379 for about 1 mile and then turn right for the Goodrington Sands car parks • Parking:Youngs Park car park (130 spaces) and Quay West (970 spaces) are several minutes walk from the beach. There is also a small car park on Cliff Road at the south part of the beach (41 spaces) • Toilets:3 toilets close to the beach (toilets at the north part of the beach are only open April to October). Toilets at Middlestone have disabled facilities • Facilities:Waterpark, park and boating lake, beach hut hire, deckchair hire, pedalo and windsurfing hire • Activities:None
