A Reminder of our Traditions

The Wardroom has a special place in the life of Royal Perth Yacht Club Members. It is a warm and friendly place where Members old and new meet to enjoy each others company. Traditions are at the heart of our Club and we ask you respect the following: • Smart Casual Dress is required—Singlets, tank tops are not permitted at any time. • Please sign in guests on the register located near the Wardroom entrance or at the bar. • Mobile phones calls can neither be made nor received in the Wardroom. Calls may be made on the balcony. • Members are encouraged to greet and join any other Member who is alone, particularly a new Member. • Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the Club buildings, the Undercroft, Twilight bar or on the balconies.

Most of all please enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Members and guests.

Vasse Felix Heytesbury - 2012, Margaret River, WA $120 Tanqueray Seville 12 The Chardonnay was fermented entirely with wild yeasts and matured in French oak barriques with battonage for nine months. A juicy acid line combined with a fine, powdery texture sets a taut canvas for complex, elevated peach, lemon, Seville orange flavored gin with angostura lime and baby pineapple flavors that build and hit their stride in the long finish.

There is tight structure with power building before a finish featuring refreshing, zesty natural acidity. A fresh lively wine that seems to sparkle and dance in the glass. Mediterranean Bombay 12 Cullen - 2010, Margaret River, WA $78 Bombay Sapphire gin with Fever Tree Mediterranean It is a naturally fermented wine blended with 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot. It displays ripe, densely flavoured fruits complemented by fine-grained tannins. The Cabernet Sauvignon was matured tonic water with a wedge of lime and a sprig of rosemary in French oak barrels for 18 months. Cellared for 10 years, perfect drinking right now.

Penny’s Hill - ‘Skeleton Key’ Shiraz 2016, McLaren Vale, SA $80 A deliberately long-aged expression of the cumulative best from their McLaren Vale vineyard site, ‘Skeleton Key’ is cellared and carefully bottle-aged before it is unlocked.
