Given the glorious achievements China boasts in the construction of ancient buildings, developing digital image technology for exploring the existing ancient buildings is of great significance, which cannot only analyse ancient civilization thoroughly, but also provide a reference for the field of modern architecture. It is efficient and accurate to collect information of ancient buildings by using modern digital image technology. However, it also has the drawbacks of having enormous sources which cannot be directly applied to image transmission. How to simplify the miscellaneous information resources and combine them with the ancient architectural culture is the key and difficult points of this study. In order to overcome the problem caused by incomplete information and lack of cultural concepts in ancient architecture construction, this paper explores the cultural connotation of ancient architecture from two aspects—material culture and intangible culture. The African-American Burial Grounds Network Act
The African-American Burial Grounds Network Act Background Cemeteries and burial sites are places of tribute and memory, connecting communities with their past. Unfortunately, many African-American burial grounds from both before and after the Civil War are in a state of disrepair or inaccessibility. Due to Jim Crow-era laws that segregated burial sites by race, many African-American families faced restrictions on where they could bury their dead, and these sites often failed to receive the type of maintenance and record-keeping that predominantly white burial grounds enjoyed. There is no official national record or database for African-American burial ground locations, and the location of many sites is unknown. As a result, the family members and descendants of those interred there are unable to visit these sites to honor and remember their ancestors. Too often, abandoned burial grounds and cemeteries are discovered when construction projects inadvertently disturb human remains, slowing or halting completion of those projects and creating distress and heartache within the local community. The presence and location of historic African-American burial grounds should be chronicled, and there should be coordinated national, state, and local efforts to preserve and restore these sites for future generations. African-American burial grounds are an integral component of the heritage of the United States. Creating and maintaining a network of African-American burial grounds will help communities preserve local history while better informing development decisions and community planning. The essence of chic and a beautiful woman, Audrey Hepburn, brought a certain “magic” quality to the screen. Synonymous with oversized sunglasses and the little black dress, many are unaware of the hardships she endured while growing up in Nazi-occupied Holland. Starring in classic movies such as Sabrina, My Fair Lady, and of course, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Audrey Hepburn brought effortless style and grace to the silver screen. Following the many Zoom training opportunities offered in the last two weeks of September, let’s put our training to the test! The Technology Team recommended we conduct the first zoom class without a live presenter so we can ensure that everything is working correctly to set us up for a successful semester. Below is the format of our first LIFE@ Elon class on Zoom – enjoy this documentary about the one and only Audrey Hepburn! Open Class On Tuesday mornings, you will receive an email with a link for the class. (If the presenter has a handout, we will attach it to the email.) Bodine, Jr. State University of New York at Binghamton Objectives of Trip • ® m This excursion will visit the area in Cape Elizabeth where the several formations of the Casco Bay Group as originally defined by Katz (1917) and the older Cushing Formation are exposed with meta morphic grade ranging from the chlorite subfacies through the almandine subfacies of the greenschist facies using the Eskola facies classification as modified by Fyfe, Turner, and Verhoogen (1958). Additional stops will be made in Falmouth where the lowest unit of the Casco Bay Group is exposed exhibiting lower almandine amphibolite facies metamorphism in contact with the Pejepscot Forma tion (Fisher, 1941), a highly migmatized quartz-biotite-plagioclase schistose paragneiss of the sillimanite subfacies of the almandine- amphibotite facies. The evidence for interpreting this contact as a fault contact is the abrupt change in metamorphic grade and the abrupt appearance of pegmatites, granites, and migmatites. -

Yet under the circumstances this should not be done, for it is due Jackson’s memory, as well as his admirers, that the facts, as far as known, of that part of his life be at least accurately if but briefly narrated. Thomas Jackson Arnold2 __________ Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson is one of the most iconic figures in American history. While most research has understandably focused on the Civil War, his early life in western Virginia, now West Virginia, has been the subject of some fascination. We are drawn to stories about someone who rises from humble circumstances to the pinnacle of success. A consensus narrative about his childhood evolved over time, an “oft told tale,” to be sure, but one that has gaps, errors, and even myths. An excerpt from the historical marker at Westlake Cemetery in Ansted, Fayette County, West Virginia, where Jackson’s mother Julia is buried, is a good example: On November 4, 1830, Julia Jackson married Blake G. Woodson, a man fifteen years her senior, who in 1831 became the court clerk of newly created Fayette County. Mired in poverty despite his position, he resented his stepchildren. When Julia Woodson’s health began to fail in 1831, she sent her children to live with relatives, and Thomas J. Jackson moved to Jackson’s Mill in Lewis County. He returned here once, in autumn 1831, to see his mother shortly before she died. -
