SKY ULTRA PICO MX 100K

The Range of was the last redoubt of the NONOALCAS, crib of the SIERA flag and of the house where coin was minted during the War of Independence, and it is said that QUETZOLCOATL, the man of life, light, and tatiaxca Lord of knowledge, day and wind, he died in the outskirts of the PICO de ORIZABA, or CITLALTÉPETL.

The formation of these two important sites marks the route of the SKY ULTRA PICO MX 100K. It begins in the mountain range of Zongolica, land of the jaguar (tlatlauhquiocélotl) and ends at the Pico de Orizaba, habitat of the mountain lion (kuawmistli). This trail allows the trekkers to enjoy the jungle and the mountain, allowing us all to come together for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the National Park of the Pico de Orizaba.

This route travels through paths and breaches with countless landscapes, outlooks, towns, and natural and archeological charms. This trail will start in Zongolica at 1,225 msnm, passing through Reyes, Finca Santa Martha, Tequila, Zoncolco, San Cristobal, Huiloapan, Orizaba, , Mariano Escobedo, La Perla; San José Pilancón, la Cueva de la Muñeca, el Cráter de Quetzalcoatl, el Centro Ceremonial and La Palapa, finishing in VILLAS PICO DE ORIZABA at the National Park of the Pico de Orizaba. The second half will take its participants through Orizaba, starting from the riverbank bearing the same name, following the same path that Captain Reynolds himself trekked 168 ago to arrive at the top of the mountain on May 10, 1848, touching the highest point of the SKY ULTRA PICO MX 100K at 4,200 msnm and arriving finally at the “GOAL,” situated in the Villas Pico de Orizaba at 3,400 msnm.
