Keith Padgett President & CEO Keith Padgett returned to his hometown of San Diego joining the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito (BGCSDTO) in May 2002, after a nine-year absence.

Mr. Padgett was born and raised in San Diego. He graduated from Mt. Miguel High School in Spring Valley and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, San Diego and a Masters of Public Administration from National University, San Diego. He served four years in the United States Air Force. In addition, he is a most recent grad of the non profit management development program through the Harvard Business School Club of San Diego.

Mr. Padgett began his over 40 years of non-profit professional career in San Diego. For 13 years he served in various capacities, including Owner and Executive Director for Green Valley Ranch and Paradise Creek Ranch, 24-hour residential treatment facilities for emotionally disturbed boys in Ramona and Valley Center. He was the Executive Director of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, San Diego Area Chapter. Mr. Padgett’s experience includes over 13 years with three Big Brother Big Sister (BBBS) agencies.

Keith joined the BGCSDTO immediately from his tenure with BBBS of Greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. He orchestrated both the merger of Big Brothers of Greater Los Angeles with Big Sisters of Los Angeles and Big Brothers of King County with Big Sisters of to create two of the largest and most dynamic BBBS agencies in America. He previously served as Executive Director of BBBS of the Greater Sacramento Area.

During Keith’s tenure at BGCSDTO, the number of children served has increased from 8,000 to 20,ooo annually. The annual budget has increased from $2 million to $5 million.

The Club has added a successful Middle School Sports program that serves 1,500 boys and girls in 10 sports, and one Montessori School for 2-6 year olds. The Aquatics program and Youth Arts Academy have more than doubled. Keith also added a Center for a Healthy Lifestyle program and facility to address childhood obesity.

After successfully raising over $6 million in a capital campaign, the original Lomas Santa Fe Branch was demolished to build the new Barbara Harper Branch, Doug & Marianne Pardee Aquatics Center and Allred, Grant, Fletcher & Lingenfelder Gym. Under his guidance, both Carmel Valley branches, Del Mar and Encinitas branches and the Coast Volleyball facility have been remolded and/or expanded.

Mr. Padgett has produced 10 National Association All-Star Charity games. Five events took place at the San Diego Sports Arena. The other five games were held in Little Rock, Sacramento and Seattle. The games raised over $1.5 million for charity and featured some of the greatest NBA players of the era, including , , Gary Payton and .

Keith has been elected or appointed to numerous professional posts, including Chairman of the BGCA San Diego Area Council, LA Mentoring Coalition, BBBSA National Professional Staff Council for the Western United States and President of the BBBSA Executive Directors Association. BBBSA appointed Padgett to their National Task Force for Diversity. The San Diego Foundation appointed Keith to its San Diego Vision task force in 2010.

Recently under Keith’s leadership at the Club, BGCSDTO was named the non profit of the year in 2012 by the Solana Beach Chamber. In addition, BGCSDTO was named business of the year by the Solana Beach chamber back in 2010.
