DIVISION II MEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS RECORDS BOOK 2015 Championship 2 History 4 All-Time Results 16 2015 CHAMPIONSHIP HIGHLIGHTS Florida Southern's senior squad finshes strong, secures championship: For the first time since 1981, Florida Southern cut down the nets Saturday afternoon at the Ford Center as the top-ranked Moccasins concluded a 36-1 season by collecting a 77-62 win against Indiana (Pa.) in the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship game. Saturday’s national championship was the first for the men’s basketball team since the 1981 team defeated Mount St. Mary’s 73-68 in the national title game in Springfield, Massachusetts, and the 28th all-time national title in Florida Southern history. Prior to Saturday’s win, FSC’s most recent national title came in 2010 as the men’s golf team took home its NCAA Division II record 12th national championship. “What an unbelievable feeling for our basketball team, our seniors, our school and our community,” Moccasin head coach Linc Darner said following his team’s 25th consecutive victory. “Our five senior starters really deserved this for all the hard work they’ve put in on their own since losing in the first round a year ago. I’m so proud of them, but the sad thing is I don’t get to coach them anymore. “The great thing is they went out on top and they deserve all the credit.” Saturday’s national championship game was the final contest for FSC’s six seniors, five of which started all 37 games during the championship season. -

UW DRAFT - 9/20/10 Jim Plautz 2 Working Draft! This is an ―example‖ of how the original ―Phenom Book‖ can be customized for any University. Help me make this better! Chapters 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10 have been customized. Someone at the University should review and approve these chapters. Chapters 4 & 6 also appear in the Book 1 (Phen0m - Let‘s Play Basketball)‘ Appendix Additions and changes are welcomed. Pictures and Photos have been copied from various internet websites including UWBadgers.com. The University will provide the photos they would like to use in the book. Licensing issues will be resolved. I have put the UW Bucky logo in the front cover and photos that are probably covered by licensing agreements, for discussion purposes. The University may decide not to use their Logo or provide new photos that they already have the rights to use. Universities may choose from several Marketing plans; 1. Purchase the two Phenom Books for a flat fee and market the books as they choose; 2. Market the Books internally and pay the author a royalty. 3. Sell advertising spots (in Magazines and Emails) to the author and earn advertising and licensing revenues. 4. Some combination of the above. DIVISION II MEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS RECORDS BOOK 2016 Championship 2 History 4 All-Time Results 16 2016 CHAMPIONSHIP HIGHLIGHTS Augustana wins men's basketball championship: A 14-point lead with 14 minutes left put Augustana on the road to its first NCAA Division II men’s bas- ketball championship. Lincoln Memorial, though, made sure the ride had a few rough spots. But every time the game got close Saturday afternoon at the Dr. Pepper Arena, Augustana made a clutch play that paved the way for its 90-81 victory in front of an energetic crowd. “I don’t know if there is one word to do it justice, to be honest,” said Augustana senior Alex Richter, “but I am just so happy to be a part of this team and a part of the coaching staff. “We thank the fans for coming out. Whether it was Tarleton, Western Oregon or today, we felt we were at home. We are extremely happy to be in this situation.” Augustana, which led the entire second half, finished the season 34-2. “It really helps when you have three seniors like this,” said Augustana coach Tom Billeter as he looked at Richter, Daniel Jansen and Casey Schilling at the postgame press conference. “To be honest, nothing works if you don’t have the players. I have such a special group. I am so proud of them.” Richter led the Vikings with 26 points, Jansen scored 25 and Schilling added 20. Lincoln Memorial also has a special group of players, who carried a 24-game winning streak into the championship game and finished the season 34-3. -
