  • Thank You & Campaign Results
THANK YOU & CAMPAIGN RESULTS HHTH.COM | #STAYTHEPUCKHOME ABOUT THE STAY THE PUCK HOME CAMPAIGN FROM HOCKEY HELPS THE HOMELESS & BARDOWN HOCKEY Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) was forced to put their pro- am tournament season on hold, which bring in much-needed dollars to homeless support agencies and shelters across Canada. However, just because the pandemic put the rest of the world on pause, the need for support and funding for homeless and at-risk Canadians did not stop. In fact, it is only growing. For homeless and at-risk Canadians, the realities of the novel coronavirus are much different. They are at a much higher risk of contracting infections, chronic illnesses or compromised immune systems, making them extremely vulnerable to the virus and many lack the access to the supplies and infrastructure needed to maintain their health. Shelters and front-line workers working through the pandemic are in desperate need of funds since COVID-19 has put a tight strain on their budget and resources. They face an increase in demand from their clients, and a decrease in charitable giving from sponsors and their donors. Even though we are currently unable to host tournaments, everyone at HHTH still wanted to find a way to help. In order to do so, we teamed up with Bardown Hockey to create an exclusive, limited edition clothing line called “Stay The Puck Home” to support Canada’s homeless. 100% of net proceeds from the sale of the $25 t-shirts and $50 hoodies went to our charity partners from coast-to-coast.

  • Buffalo Sabres Digital Press
Buffalo Sabres Daily Press Clips December 10, 2019 Ralph Krueger changed an entire country's approach to hockey. Next: Buffalo. By Lance Lysowski The Buffalo News December 10, 2019 The 60-year-old coach is applying the same motivational techniques, defensive foundation on ice and patient approach that made Swiss hockey competitive against the best in the world. Ralph Krueger's eyes swelled with tears as he stood among the crowd of 12,500 inside Stockholm's Ericsson Globe on May 19, 2013. Only a few weeks removed from his first season as a head coach in the National Hockey League, Krueger watched the fruits of what he calls his "life work" — Switzerland winning its first silver medal at the IIHF World Championship with a 5-1 loss to Sweden. Sixteen years earlier, Swiss hockey fans and media bristled when the gregarious, effervescent coach mentioned his goal of winning a medal on the sport's biggest stage. Watching the realization of that dream remains one of Krueger's fondest hockey memories, despite his not being behind the bench. "I'm extremely proud of what's happened to the program," said Krueger, now coach of the Buffalo Sabres. Krueger did not win a medal during his 13 years as Swiss coach; however, he did reshape the national team from a group of complacent club players into one of hockey's global powers and a hotbed for NHL talent. The project is similar to the one he has inherited in Buffalo, where the Sabres own the league's longest playoff drought. Krueger's latest project is equipped with far more talent and, in his opinion, is closer to achieving its goal.

TT1112-5 TT No.5: Rob Campion - Sat 30th July 2011; Emirates Cup 2011: Venue: Emirates Stadium, Arsenal FC; Clubs involved: Arsenal, Boca Juniors; New York Red Bulls and Paris St Germain. Today is a day in football terms that I have been looking forward to for a couple of months now. Why that long? Well this is simply when I ordered the tickets for day 1 of this annual pre-season tournament, at (to quote Gary Spooner) "the best stadium in the country". Getting to the stadium Chances to get to the bigger stadiums are few and far between for myself due to two reasons - availability and cost. It was during the early part of May that I had the idea of trying to get tickets and having checked Arsenal's official website it stated they were to go on general sale on the 19th May with tickets reasonably priced (by Arsenal's standards!!!!). My dad Paul agreed with come down to London with me and with tickets ordered it was a case of looking at the transport options that would get us to the stadium. Due to the mass of residents parking schemes around the stadium it was decided to park on the outskirts @ Cockfosters in Hertfordshire and catch the tube direct to the stadium. The Transport for London website is an excellent resource for visitors giving timetables, fares and anything related to visiting this country's capital city. With this in mind I did my research as usual and worked out it would be cheaper to purchase an Oyster Card.
