FOX TECHNICAL NOTIFICATION SATELLITE EQUIPMENT DEPLOYMENT FEBRUARY 2021

On Monday, February 8, 2021 FOX will begin shipping new MediaKind satellite receivers. The receiver model and shipping location has been determined by each system’s response to FOX’s technical questionnaire and direct partner feedback. The impacted FOX networks will remain on Galaxy 15 and Galaxy 17 satellites. Links to quick start guides are as follows:

QUICK START GUIDES: • MediaKind RX1: RX1 Quick Start Guide - MediaKind A multi-decrypt digital unit that supports 6 HD channels and 2 associated channels as SD, either as MPEG2 or MPEG4.

• MediaKind RX8200: RX8000 Install Guide A single channel unit with the primary functionality to support sites requiring SD analog. Optional HD-SDI or SD-SDI output.

• MediaKind SD transcoder: RX1 Quick Start Guide - MediaKind Transcodes MPEG2 or MPEG4 HD to MPEG2 or MPEG4 SD. This will only be provided to sites that require addition SD digital channels.

REQUIRED ACTION: • Install new receiver equipment using quick start guides. • RF Connections o RF Input 1 – Galaxy 15 Vertical ▪ To support the technology migration FOX will utilize Galaxy 15 transponder 6 with a transition to Galaxy 15 transponder 10. This will occur as a background retune and no action is required. o RF Input 2 – Galaxy 17 Vertical ▪ Provides redundant feeds for select channels and FOX 4K/UHD • Contact FOX Media Control Center no later than Wednesday, March 24th for signal authorization and validation. There is a hard deadline for this transition. The of the legacy platform will cease on March 31st.
