SEEING STARS Kyrie Irving (starter), LeBron James (starter) and Kevin Love (reserve) were selected to the Eastern Conference roster in the 2017 NBA All-Star Game. It marked the first time the Cavs had multiple starters in the event and the third time that three Cavs players were selected to an All-Star roster (Brad Daugherty, Larry Nance and Mark Price in 1989 and 1993). In the 192-182 win for the West this year, both Irving (22 PTS, 14 ASTS, 7 REBS, 3 STLS) and James (23 PTS) had strong performances.

 NO. 13 FOR LEBRON: James was the top overall vote-getter in the conference among all three voting groups (fans, media, players) and had the most fan votes in the NBA(1,893,751). His 2017 All-Star appearance marked the 13th consecutive (all starts) for the two-time NBA All-Star Game MVP (2006 and 2008). He became the fifth player in league history to start at least 13 All-Star Games, joining (15), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (13), Bob Cousy (13) and Michael Jordan (13). He also tied Bob Cousy for most consecutive All-Star starts in NBA history (13).  ONE SCORES 40 POINTS, ANOTHER GETS A TRIPLE-DOUBLE (TWICE): The Cavs have had one player score 40-plus points and another record a triple-double in the same game on two occasions this season. In the Nov. 23 win over Portland, Love tallied 40 points and James posted a triple-double with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists. At New Orleans on Jan. 23, Irving finished with 49 points while James registered 26 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists.

 12 ASSISTS FOR TWO CAVS PLAYERS (IRVING/JAMES): In the Feb. 1 win over Minnesota, the Cavs dished out a season-high 37 assists. D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE - CANTON CHARGE

CHARGE LOCK IN FOURTH PLAYOFF SEED: The Canton Charge (29-21), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, fell on the road to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (30-20), 111-108, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Saturday night. The loss will set Canton as the fourth seed playing the top seeded Raptors 905 in the opening round of the NBA Development League Eastern Conference Playoffs beginning next week.

Canton’s John Holland scored 30 points with a pair of steals in 38 minutes to lead the visitors. Gerald Beverly scored a season-high 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting with six rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench. Eric Moreland added 12 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in 35 minutes. Mike Williams added a season-high 15 points on 4-of-7 three-point shooting in 31 minutes. Larry Sanders had four points and 16 rebounds in 19 minutes on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Charge loss ended a nine-game winning streak over the Mad Ants. Fort Wayne was led by Indiana Pacers assignment Georges Niang’s 32 points and 16 rebounds with five assists in 44 minutes. Adam Woodbury came off the bench to provide a double-double of 11 points and 17 rebounds for Fort Wayne. The Mad Ants will face the Atlantic Division winning Maine Red Claws in the other Eastern Conference playoff series.
