2017 Pemulwuy Prize & Western Sydney Leadership Awards

Named after the famous Indigenous warrior and leader, the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue has created The Pemulwuy Prize to honour a leading citizen, or group, who has made an outstanding contribution to the region.

Born around 1750 on the northern banks of the Georges River and shot dead in 1802, Pemulwuy led a band of Aboriginal resistance to colonial rule across Western Sydney, striking at settlements from Parramatta to the Hawkesbury.
