In order to prevent occurrence of unwanted pregnancies women need education and motivation regarding family planning methods.The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme with regard to knowledge on prevention of unwanted pregnancies among selected reproductive group women (19-45 years) at Chinakakani, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. METHODS: Quantitative non-experimental research approachandone group pre-test and post-test design was used. 60 subjects were selected by Purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted at Sub-Center,Chinakakani, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. A Structured questionnaire was developed regarding prevention of unwanted pregnancies for the collection of data and data were analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. RESULTS: The mean and standard deviation of knowledge scores of reproductive group women in pre and post-test were (20.83±3.79) and (32.05± 2.9) respectively. The obtained paired ‘t’ test value (tcal20.23) was greater than the ‘t’ table value (2.00; p<0.001) and was significant at 0.001 level.

Microscopic Ear Surgery using a post-auricular approach is the most common tympanoplasty technique before the evolution of endoscopes. Endoscopic Ear Surgery, with the advent of new instruments, became a more powerful surgical method in the treatment of ear disease [2] Endoscopic Ear Surgery, now called transcanal endoscopic ear surgery TEES, provide wide-angle vision with high resolution and magnication of structures of the middle ear. The endoscopic ear surgery helps to direct visualization of hidden areas such as the sinus tympani, the epi tympanum, meso tympanum, and the hypotympanum [3, 4, 5]. The present study evaluates the tympanoplasties to treat chronic otitis media without cholesteatoma. The study compares the surgical outcome of hearing restoration rates. It also helps to study the variant anatomy of the middle ear and pathology of csom at the time of surgery.

Candida species are now among the most common health care –associated pathogens. Most of the studies show that the predominant species C. albicans has been replaced by non albicans Candida with the use of antifungal agents. As various species differ in susceptibility pattern to the newer antifungal agents, antifungal susceptibility test should be performed before administration of antifungal agents. To isolate and identify different Candida species in various clinical specimens, to know the predominant species, to study the risk factors, to compare the advantage of rapid method such as use of Chrom agar over conventional methods for identification and confirmation of Candida species and to detect their antifungal susceptibility pattern. All the clinical samples collected from cases of candidiasis K e yw or ds were processed initially using blood agar, MacConkey bile salt lactose agar and SDA with chloramphenicol.

Hence, a clinical study of the dengue cases was done in the Abstract late monsoon for a period of 3 months since a large number of cases with bleeding manifestations were referred to our Hospital for platelets transfusion from the local hospitals and nursing homes. Aim: A Clinical study of dengue fever cases in the extended monsoon period and to evaluate the need for platelet transfusion in dengue fever cases. Retrospective Observational Study — Results: In the retrospective observational study, the diagnostic serotyping was done using rapid standard diagnostic kits. Eighty-four dengue seropositive were seen of which dengue fever cases were 55, dengue hemorrhagic fever were 27 and dengue shock syndrome were 2 cases only. Totally, 26 cases with dengue hemorrhagic fever whose platelet counts were below 50,000 cells/cu mm, were given random pooled donor platelet concentrates, while two cases of dengue shock syndrome were given single donor platelet concentrates, Kakarla Thota Kanugolu fresh frozen plasma and whole blood transfusion.     Nepal Journal of Epidemiology eISSN 2091-0800 Research Article Open Access A 13 year hospital based study on the Trend of Urinary Stone Disease in Uttarakhand, India Monica Kakkar1, Rakesh Kakkar2 Abstract: Background: The present retrospective study on urinary stone disease in the Uttarakhand state was necessitated as no study has been done yet. Methods: A 13 year retrospective study (from 2005 to 2018) was conducted on the urinary stones removed from the patients, admitted at Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun. The incidence of the disease, site of stones in urinary tract upon diagnosis, composition of removed stones and occurrence of a possible co-relationship between the incidence of the urinary stone disease at different times, age, sex, religion of the patients was investigated. Results: The frequency of occurrence of urinary stones in males was found to be almost three times more as compared to their female counterparts. The above trend was consistent over the entire period of the study. Interestingly, in the Muslim and Sikh population of the area, females were found to be less prone to the problem as compared to their Hindu counterparts. However, in all religious groups, 21-40 years old subjects were found to be most susceptible to the problem and approximately 90% of the urinary stones were recovered from the kidneys and primarily composed of calcium oxalate. Conclusion: The co-relationship between the occurrence of urinary stones with age, sex of the patients, their religion & site of stones on diagnosis was found to be statistically significant. Patient presenting with neurological manifestations suggestive of NCC were enrolled in the study group over a period of one year. All these patients were subjected to neuroimaging (CT or MRI). Serum from all suspected cases and CSF from those who have shown evidence of NCC on neuroimaging were subjected to enzyme K e y w o r d s linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the presence of anti-cysticercus antibodies using Cysti-cheX commercial kit. A thorough general and systemic physical ELISA, examination with emphasis on the nervous system was carried out along with NCC, hematological parameters after obtaining a detailed history. Out of 66 patients Neuroimaging presented with manifestations of NCC, radiological evidence was found in 43 (65%) patients of which, 27 (62.8%) of them showed single lesions and 16 (37.2%) showed multiple lesions.
