Renewables, Energy Efficiency and Carbon Mitigation for Mines

Post-Event Report Overview

The 3rd Energy and Mines Toronto Summit welcomed over 300 senior , renewables and finance professionals to discuss and network about mine energy issues and potential renewable solutions in the global mining sector. This year the event saw a record turnout of senior mining executives from major and junior mining operations who attended the Summit to understand the cost, practicalities and finance solutions for integrating renewable energy into the power supply. This high-caliber event focused on the latest case studies of renewable for mines and interactive discussions on strategy and project opportunities. The event reviewed critical topics for the future successful partnerships between renewables and mining, including finance, stakeholder relations and technology challenges. The delegation had high level representation from major miners such as Rio Tinto, Kinross, and Anglo Gold Ashanti. North-American junior mines were also very evident as were global energy solution providers including Caterpillar, Siemens, RES, Hatch, SolarReserve and Panasonic.

This Summit is part of our global series of events to draw links between the mining and renewables sectors and drive sustainable, affordable and secure solutions that help address mining’s energy challenges.

Alongside the Toronto Summit, Energy and Mines produces events in London (January, 28-29, 2016), Santiago de Chile (May, 10-11, 2016) and Johannesburg (June, 22-23, 2016).
