Based on the comic book of the same name by and Darick Robertsonit follows the eponymous team of vigilantes as they combat superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities. The series premiered on July 26, The Boys is set in a universe where superpowered individuals are recognized as heroes by the general public and work for the powerful corporation The Boys: v. 1 International, which markets and monetizes them. Outside of their heroic personas, most are arrogant and The Boys: v. 1. The series primarily focuses on two groups: the Seven, Vought's premier superhero team, and the eponymous Boys, vigilantes looking to bring down Vought and its corrupt superheroes. The Boys are led by , who despises all superpowered people, and the Seven are led by the narcissistic and violent . At the start of the series, the Boys are joined by after a member of the Seven The Boys: v. 1 kills his girlfriend, while the Seven are joined by Annie January, a young and hopeful heroine forced to face the truth about those she admires. Other members of the Seven include the disillusioned Queen Maeve, drug-addicted A-Train, insecure the Deep, the mysterious Black Noir, and white supremacist Stormfront. The Boys: v. 1 Boys are rounded out by tactical planner Mother's Milk, weapons specialist Frenchie, and superpowered test subject Kimiko. The first season depicts the initial conflict between the Boys and the Seven, which is motivated by Butcher believing Homelander caused his wife Becca's disappearance. While Homelander and Stillwell conspire to receive government support for superheroes, the Boys attempt to stop them by uncovering Vought's secrets. Initially unaware of each other's affiliations, Hughie and Annie muddle the conflict when they enter into The Boys: v. 1 romantic relationship, despite Butcher's distrust of her. Shockwave is a recurring character in the Amazon series The Boys. He was a Supe speedster and was considered the second-fastest man in the world after challenging and losing to A-Train in a foot race. However, due to A-Train's heart The Boys: v. 1, Shockwave was presumably the fastest man in the world The Boys: v. 1 was set to replace A- Train in The Seven. Shockwave is first seen being interviewed about his upcoming race with A-Train. He states that no one can be the fastest man forever and that he likes his chances. During the highly anticipated "Race of the Century", Shockwave arrives at the event determined, while A-Train was secretly anxious due to the possibility of Shockwave winning the race, thus jeopardizing his position in The Seven. While everyone had their attention on Shockwave's arrival, A-Train darts away to take Compound V and is back in a blink. With the help of Compound V, A-Train ultimately wins the race, running at meters per second, while Shockwave runs at meters per second. Shockwave is later seen at a convention signing The Boys: v. 1 for his fans. The suspicions are confirmed after A-Train announces his resignation in the upcoming Seven movie. Shockwave makes one final appearance in " Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker " where he attends the congress judiciary hearings about the Compound V investigation. Shortly after Congressman Richards addresses Dr. Vogelbaum, Congresswoman Neuman kills The Boys: v. 1 both. The Seven are a group of superheroes owned and managed by Vought International. They consist of seven superheroes who use their power and influence to gain fame and glory. They are the rival group of the Boyswho The Boys: v. 1 do anything to take them down. With Homelander being the only one directly created by Vought, all other members of The Seven and replacements The Boys: v. 1 confirmed to have been raised outside of Vought excluding Black Noir who's background is still unknown. While The Seven operate as a superhero team and stop crimes, in reality, every action is only fuel to increase Vought's stock prices and Public Relations. What happened to Mister Marathon is currently unknown, but afterwards, The Boys: v. 1 was replaced by A-Train as The Seven's speedster. The team The Boys: v. 1 quickly by the start of Season 1 of the show in The Name of the Gamewhere Lamplighter is said to have retired and his position is to be quickly filled by Starlight. Meanwhile, Translucent hunts down Hughie but is captured and killed by The Boys in Cherry when they plant an explosive inside of him. The Seven continue to operate despite being down a member and coverup his death by lying that he is on a secret mission. A-Train's position on The Seven is then temporarily threatened by Shockwave when the two participate in a race. A-Train cheats, using Compound V as a performance enhancement drug during the race The Boys: v. 1 ensures his position is secure. The Seven still continue with six, until The Deep's sexual abuse against women is exposed by Starlight in Good for the Soul The Boys: v. 1, prompting Vought to place him on sabbatical with no intention of letting him return. In the Season 1 finaleduring a fight with Hughie and Starlight, A-Train has a heart attack and is placed into a coma. This leaves The Seven down to five members four operating members by the end of the season. In Season 2, A-Train recovers The Boys: v. 1 his coma and Vought finally decides to announce Translucent's death. This leaves a position open for new candidate members following the funeral of Translucent. Though initially Blindspot was considered by Ashley for demographic popularity, Homelander personally denied his entry due to his hate against "Cripples". Edgar himself privately picks Stormfront as a replacement. The Seven only gets smaller as the season continued, The Boys: v. 1 A-Train's Compound V abuse had taken it's toll on the speedster's health and Starlight was discovered to be a traitor working for The Boys. As such, both were removed, with the former being kicked out and the latter being imprisoned. This prompted Vought to consider Shockwave as a viable replacement for A-Train. However, Shockwave had his head exploded at the Congressional hearings before he was fully indoctrinated. Furthermore, Black Noir attacks Starlight during her escape attempt, but is incapacitated by Queen Maeve when she causes him to have an allergic reaction. This leaves Noir in a vegetative state and out for the rest of the season. Meanwhile, Vought considers reappointing The Deep to fill the void in The Seven with "trustable assets". While A-Train was considered, Mr. Edgar denies reappointing him for two reasons: The negative publicity with reappointing two "Has-beens" and Stormfront's racism against A-Train. With her dark history exposed and reputation tarnished, Stormfront directly attacks The Boys. During the battle, in her attempt to kill Becca Butcher she is interrupted when Ryan blasts her with his heat vision. This leaves Stormfront critically wounded with three of her limbs severed, her body severely burned, and in a unresponsive state. After the fight, Homelander publicly announces Starlight's reappointment into The Seven, lying that she was framed by Stormfront and stating Stormfront has been incarcerated and will be "punished". Furthermore, Alastair meets with A-Train and Deep to discuss their returns. He confirms that A-Train was reappointed following the removal of Stormfront, however Deep was denied because "One hero is a redemption, Two is a weakness. The Seven is the most powerful superhero group in The Boys: v. 1 world, as well as the most famous. The original members were created by Vought by injecting unborn fetuses with Compound Vmaking them far stronger than most superheroes. As such, they have a The Boys: v. 1 contract with Vought, who pay them a salary.
