MEET COOPER SAEY

Atlanta oga .....the newest addition to our Y instructor staff & community. BIO Elizabeth Cooper Seay is a registered 500 hour instructor with the & member of the International Yoga As- sociation of Yoga Therapists. She received her Structural Yoga Therapy certification from Mukunda Stiles, and has studied with superb teachers such as Darren Rhodes, Donna Farhi, Ana Forrest, Amy Ippolitti, Christina Sell, Doug Swenson, Ed Marks, Mary Obendorfer, George Purvis, Bikram Chodury, Kofi Busia, and Amy DeFilippi, and Mukunda Stiles. Cooper began practicing yoga in 1997, blessed by two Integral yoga teachers who were both doctors of chiropractic; her first instruction was bothspiritua l & profoundly informed by the instructors’ anotamical knowledge & precision. A lifelong athlete, Cooper was diverted by more physically challenging forms of hatha, and her 1st yoga certification was as a Bikram instructor. After four years of teaching an average of fourteen classes a week & managing studios, Cooper launched her own studio and then came full circle. Following her integral lineage she traveled to kerala, India to obtain her Sivananda teaching certificate. It was in the Sivananda ashram that she was able to connect her earlier career as a musician with yoga through chant & kirtan. Upon completion of her Bhava Yoga certification with Peter Rizzo, Cooper began her current path & passion - teaching Vinyasa in the Krishnamacharya lineage. Cooper currently owns & operates the Antahsara Yoga Shala located in Clarkesville GA, a part of A Garden For Wellness, which offers clinical hypnosis, acupuncture, massage, yoga, and chiropractic care.Cooper’s personal yoga practice is defined by her love of vinyasa & her devotion to the eight limbed path.Cooper practices vippasana meditation as taught by SN Goenka. As a teacher, Cooper strives to integrate the tapas of a strong practice with the of a quiet mind.
