The general public, without parking permits, may also park in the following lots during a snow emergency parking ban Vehicles may also be parked in municipal parking lots for a $2.00 fee per storm: during Snow Removal Parking Bans based on the new Foss Street (Purple Lot) permit parking program procedures listed under the Across From Treatment Plant (Brown Lot) Snow Emergency Parking Ban column. Gas House (Maroon Lot) Washington Street (Red Lot) Ban Information Is Broadcast On: The Alfred Street lot (Blue) and Federal / Franklin Streets lot (Green) WILL NOT be open to the general public during snow emergency parking bans. 24/7 or Nights & Weekends parking permit holders for one of the downtown lots will receive an email from the WCSH, Channel 6 WBLM FM 102.9 City with specific instructions on the parking procedures WMTW, Channel 8 WLOB AM 1310 that apply to their lots. December 19, 2018 Winter Sidewalk Maintenance In The Downtown Business Area City ordinances (Chapter 62 Sec. 62-1) require property owners in the down- town business area to remove ice and snow from the public sidewalks abut- ting their properties.The goal is to have all the business owners cooperatively work to make the business area a safe and inviting environment for all of our residents, visitors and customers. The City owns a number of properties within the business area and the Pub- lic Works Department is charged with the responsibility of clearing snow / ice from those areas. The Department typically assists other property owners by running its sidewalk plow wherever it safely fits in the area. However, this does not relieve the other property owners of their responsibility to clear snow / ice. Also, the City offers free sand and salt mixture at the Recy- cling / Transfer Station at 371 Hill Street during the winter months. There is a limit of two 5 gallon buckets per day. In cases where a property owner does not address this responsibility, fines and fees for clearing the sidewalk may be imposed by the City. The business area is comprised of the following streets: Adams Street (Main to Jefferson) Main Street (Saco River to Elm St.) Alfred Street (Main to Mount Vernon) Pool Street (Alfred to Foss) Elm Street (Saco River to Center St.) South Street (Adams to Jefferson) Federal Street Washington Street (Main to Jefferson) Franklin Street Washington Street (Even/odd numbered side) Jefferson Street Water Street (Hill to Sullivan) Lincoln Street (Even/odd numbered side) Snow Parking Ban Information On Other Side Please report any problems to either the Biddeford Public Works Department at 282-1579 or the Biddeford Police Department at 282-5127. In essence, I tell them that I am in charge of the wellness of the Company and overseer and polisher of the multiple brands of radio stations that we have. Then comes the question, ‘‘Radio stations are brands?’’ ‘‘Yes,’’ I respond. ‘‘A consistent allusion can become a brand. Each and every one of our radio stations has a created personality that requires ongoing care. That is one of the things that differentiates us from other radio companies.’’ We really care about the identity, ambiance, and mission of each and every station that belongs to Saga. We have radio stations that have been on the air for close to 100 years and we have radio stations that have been created just months ago.

    2016 Annual Report 2016 Annual Letter To our fellow shareholders: Well…. here we go. This letter is supposed to be my turn to tell you about Saga, but this year is a little different because it involves other people telling you about Saga. The following is a letter sent to the staff at WNOR FM 99 in Norfolk, Virginia. Directly or indirectly, I have been a part of this station for 35+ years. Let me continue this train of thought for a moment or two longer. Saga, through its stockholders, owns WHMP AM and WRSI FM in Northampton, Massachusetts. Let me share an experience that recently occurred there. Our General Manager, Dave Musante, learned about a local grocery/deli called Serio’s that has operated in Northampton for over 70 years. The 3rd generation matriarch had passed over a year ago and her son and daughter were having some difficulties with the store. Dave’s staff came up with the idea of a ‘‘cash mob’’ and went on the air asking people in the community to go to Serio’s from 3 to 5PM on Wednesday and ‘‘buy something.’’ That’s it. Zero dollars to our station. It wasn’t for our benefit. Community outpouring was ‘‘just overwhelming and inspiring’’ and the owner was emotionally overwhelmed by the community outreach. As Dave Musante said in his letter to me, ‘‘It was the right thing to do.’’ Even the local newspaper (and local newspapers never recognize radio) made the story front page above the fold.     Sheigra DXpedition Report 12 th to 25 th October 2019 - with Dave Kenny & Alan Pennington This was the 58th DXpedition to Sheigra in Sutherland on the far north western tip of the Scottish mainland, just south of Cape Wrath. DXers made the first long drive up here in 1979, so this we guess, was the 40 th anniversary? And the DXers who first made the trip to Sheigra in 1979 to listen to MW would probably notice little change here today: the single-track road ending in the same cluster of cottages, the cemetery besides the track towards the sea and, beyond that, the machair in front of Sheigra’s sandy bay. And surrounding Sheigra, the wild windswept hillsides, lochans and rocky cliffs pounded by the Atlantic.     2015 Annual Report 2015 Annual Letter To our fellow shareholders: Although another year has zoomed by, 2015 seems like it was 2014 all over again. The good news is that we are still here and we have used some of our excess cash for significant and cogent acquisitions. We will get into that shortly, but first a small commercial about broadcasting. I have always, since childhood, been fascinated by magic and magicians. I even remember, very early in my life, reading the magazine PARADE that came with the Sunday newspaper. Inside the back page were small ads that promoted everything from the ‘‘best new rug shampooer’’ to one that seemed to run each week. It was about a three inch ad and the headline always stopped me -- ‘‘MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE REVEALED!’’...Wow... All I had to do was write away and some organization called the Rosicrucian’s would send me a pamphlet and correspondent courses revealing all to me. Well, my mother nixed that idea really fast. It didn’t stop my interest in magic and mysticism. I read all I could about Harry Houdini and, especially, Howard Thurston. Orson Welles called Howard Thurston ‘‘The Master’’ and, though today he is mostly forgotten except among magicians, he was truly a gifted magician and a magical performer. His competitor was Harry Houdini, whose name survived though his magic had a tragic end. If you are interested, you should take some time and research these two performers. In many ways, their magic and their shows tie into what we do today in both radio and TV.

As you know, our schools are currently operating under a hybrid model of in-person and remote learning due to COVID-19. As long as this continues, we have two options on stormy days: Option 1: Remote Snow Day In-person learning is canceled due to weather, but remote learning continues. Families can register in advance to receive ‘shelf-stable snow meals’ for use on these days. More information on these meals will be forthcoming. Option 2: Traditional Snow Day All school activities are canceled, including remote learning. These days must be made up at the end of the school year. Our last day of school is Wednesday, June 9, 2021; for every “Option 2 snow day” we use, we will need to add a make-up day starting June 10, 2021. I anticipate using both of these options based on the weather. I must stress that it will be very important to follow school cancellation messages to determine whether a school closing will follow a “Remote Snow Day” or a “Traditional Snow Day” model.
