Service overview

The Community ENT Service provides fast access to specialist care for patients within City and Hackney who require: • Routine assessment and diagnosis • Routine treatment • Follow up of patients where necessary/clinically required Our clinics

Our community clinics are run from 2 easily accessible locations:

Tynemouth Medical Practice

The Nightingale Practice

Tynemouth Medical Practice, Tynemouth Road, , N15 4RH

Bus: There are bus stops opposite Retail Park, a 4 minute walk down Tynemouth Road to the practice, with services 41, N41 and W4 running from them. Train: is a 9 minute walk from the practice. Car: There is a car park with disabled parking available for patients at the practice and street parking available nearby.

The Nightingale Practice, 10 Kenninghall Road, Clapton, E5 8BY

Bus: There are bus stops opposite the practice with services 425 and 488 running from them. Train: Rectory Road station is a 6 minute walk from the practice and Clapton station is a 9 minute walk away. Car: There is a small car park to the rear of the practice with disabled parking available.

Your appointment Your GP will complete and send your referral to our ENT Administration team who will contact you to arrange your appointment at a time, date and location of your choosing.

Your referral will be reviewed by our ENT Surgeons in advance of your appointment.

Please ensure you attend your appointment on time. If you are unable to attend, please contact us at least 48 hours prior to your appointment to allow us to offer the slot to another patient.

If you wish you can bring a family member or friend. If you need assistance with translation or would like a chaperone to attend with you, please let us know when you book your appointment.

Diagnostics

Should you require any diagnostic tests as part of your care with us e.g. hearing assessments, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerised tomography (CT) we will refer you to the relevant services.

We have relationships with a number of local providers who will be responsible for arranging the required appointment. You should be contacted by them within 6 weeks of your appointment with us. If there is a delay, please get in contact with the relevant provider directly using the details included within your clinic letter.

Your results will then be returned to us, enabling the continuation of your care.

After your appointment we will send you and your GP a letter containing the following information:

• Summary of treatment • Outcome of treatment • Reason for discharge or planned follow–up • Referrals to other services • Treatment plan or recommendations for management

If you require further appointments within our service, our bookings team will contact you to coordinate.
