Antivirus
Issues after application installs
One of the most common points of performance lag that our technicians are engaged on is caused by conflicting antivirus/security software being installed on the same system.
We suggest using a single solution but for situations that’s not an option, make sure to confirm functionality in Safe Mode.
Note: If performance conflicts occur, check with the programs publisher for any known issues or fixes.

Maintenance
Physical checks and cleaning
Blocked air vents can cause performance issues since the system may not be receiving proper air flow; this can cause the processor to overheat. To identify if this is the cause of slow performance, follow the steps below:
1. Check the vents on the computer to see if they are covered with dust and not allowing heat and air to pass through. 2. If yes, Turn off the computer 3. Remove all power sources: Unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery, or unplug the desktop power cord. 4. Use a compressed air can to blow the dust out of the vents. Be sure to hold the can at an upright angle (near 90 degrees) and hold it 15-20 centimeters (6-8 inches) away from the vent.

ePSA Memory Isolation
There has been a useful new addition to the enhanced Pre-boot System Assessment (ePSA) memory diagnostics.
It is called the Dual In-Line Memory Module (DIMM) Isolation test.
DIMM Isolation will allow the ePSA diagnostics to isolate a faulty memory module in the system.
Note: This means that if you have more than 1 DIMM in your PC, the test will identify the individual slot with the fault memory error, rather than give a general memory error that could be in any of the slots. Although with only 1 DIMM fitted, it should be in Slot 1 as a best practice.
