USA LUGE OLYMPIC HISTORY US Olympic History: Luge entered the Olympic Program in 1964 and USA men and women have competed at every Winter Olympics in which the sports has been held. It took a long time for the USA lugers to ascend the medal podium, but that occurred in both in 1998 and 2002 when the USA finished 2- 3 in the doubles at both Winter Olympics. In singles we have not yet been as successful, with our best finishes 4th-place for both the men and women, with Adam Heidt (2002) and Tony Benshoof (2006) placing 4th among the men and Courtney Zablocki finishing 4th for the women in 2006.
