As an international Christian Order we all have been affected and will continue to be affected. Although it may appear to be a somber edition, the fact is that we can rejoice in our Faith, and know the Joy and the Truth, especially as we enter the Christmas season. Below is a message I sent to our Grand Commander Col Dr. Marcel de Picciotto, and Jean Pelegrin the Grand Prior of France, immediately following the horrible attacks in Paris. “Dear Grand Commander Marcel, Grand Prior Jean and all Brothers and Sisters in France, The Grand Priory of Canada and all the peoples of our nation send our sincere condolences for the senseless acts of cowardly barbarism that have taken place in Paris last night. No nation is immune from this horror. We must not be intimidated by terrorists and their inhumane actions. Canadians know this first hand and stand firmly Page 1 with our French Brothers and Sisters at this dark and difficult time. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you all.” As many of you know, on November 6 we lost a dear friend, a dedicated and faithful member of our Order, former Grand Commander Major General Robert Disney. Both Robert and his lovely wife Sheila have been to Canada many times. He was installed as Grand Commander at the Toronto international gathering and considered Canadians among his second family. -

Washington, D.C. 20036 (202) 962-0054 I. INTRODUCTION The National Association of Theatre Owners (“NATO”) respectfully submits the following comments in response to the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division’s (the “Department”) announced intentions to review the Paramount Consent Decrees (the “Decrees”). Individual motion picture theater companies may comment on the five various provisions of the Decrees but NATO’s comment will focus on one seminal provision of the Decrees. Specifically, NATO urges the Department to maintain the prohibition on block booking, as that prohibition undoubtedly continues to support pro-competitive practices. NATO is the largest motion picture exhibition trade organization in the world, representing more than 33,000 movie screens in all 50 states, and additional cinemas in 96 countries worldwide. Our membership includes the largest cinema chains in the world and hundreds of independent theater owners. NATO and its members have a significant interest in preserving an open marketplace in the North American film industry. North America remains the biggest film-going market in the world: It accounts for roughly 30% of global revenue from only 5% of the global population. The strength of the American movie industry depends on the availability of a wide assortment of films catering to the varied tastes of moviegoers. Indeed, both global blockbusters and low- budget independent fare are necessary to the financial vitality and reputation of the American film industry. -

Walter Latham Biography
Walter Latham Often referred to as "The King of Comedy,” Walter Latham is grateful for the humble upbringing and everyday challenges that shaped his early life, and instilled in him a fierce passion that led to his success as a business mogul and humanitarian. Born to a single mother in East New York, Brooklyn, Latham soon found himself in a similar situation, becoming a father at the young age of 18, and struggling to get by with odd jobs and a brief stint in the United States Air Force. At 20, he caught a break with a permanent position at the American Express Call Center in Greensboro, NC and was thrilled to finally provide healthcare for his son, even though he knew he was bound for something greater. Inspiration soon struck Latham, after attending a performance by his childhood friend, MC Lyte, when he realized his calling was to produce concerts. He borrowed money from his mother and produced his first concert in a nightclub. The headline act didn’t show and Latham had to refund the patrons their money but what he learned from this unfortunate experience would change his path forever. Latham decided to produce more concerts but mitigate his losses by soliciting sponsorships. He wrote and mailed 50 letters to various corporations about promoting a southeast tour with the hottest comedians. When Coors Brewing Company expressed interest, Latham soon found himself, at age 21, standing in a boardroom of top executives pitching his comedy idea. His first comedy tour featured Chris Tucker and Bill Bellamy and Coors was so impressed they asked Latham to do another. -

The Soul Man Returns for Season 5 By Taylor Friedman Thursday night, before a taping of TV Land’s The Soul Man gets under way on Stage 19, series star Cedric the Entertainer leads the entire Season Five cast and crew in a prayer circle. As everyone clasps hands, he reminds them how fortunate they are to be part of such a fun loving, hardworking and inclusive production. It’s a fitting scene, since many episodes of The Soul Man begin with his character, world-famous R&B artist- turned-pastor Boyce Ballentine, addressing his congregants — and the audience — straight on. Then, it’s 5:00 p.m. Show time! The cast, Cedric, Niecy Nash, Wesley Jonathan, John Beasley and Missi Pyle, dance between takes, improvise their lines, and crack jokes. The live studio audience feeds off this energy; in fact, a few brave souls show off their own singing and dancing skills. Created by Suzanne Martin and Cedric the Entertainer and produced by Hazy Mills and Bird and A Bear Entertainment, The Soul Man follows Boyce, his loving, glamorous wife Lolli (Nash), carefree younger brother Stamps (Jonathan) and pious father (Beasley) as they adapt to a more modest lifestyle in St. Louis, out of the Las Vegas spotlight. The show has filmed at CBS Radford ever since its pilot episode, and interestingly, the character Boyce Ballentine was first introduced in Martin’s Hot in Cleveland, another series that filmed on the lot through 2015. Now Cedric the Entertainer is on a mission to educate others about this serious diabetes complication. As a stand-up comic, television and film actor, director, musician, and game show host, Cedric Kyles has built a career around making people laugh. Known as Cedric the Entertainer, the 52-year-old Missouri native gained national prominence in 1992 when he appeared on the HBO comedy series Def Comedy Jam. Four years later, he landed his first acting role on The Steve Harvey Show. Since then, he has appeared in dozens of movies, including Barbershop and Barbershop 2: Back in Business, and the animated films Ice Age and Madagascar. He also stars in and is a co-creator and executive producer of TV Land's The Soul Man. Cedric signed on to produce "Step On Up," a series of public service announcements for the American Diabetes Association (ADA), after realizing his father, Kittrell, had been silently enduring debilitating pain in his feet for quite some time. "Our family had no idea it was happening," says Cedric, who blames his father's stoicism on misguided machismo. -
