Welcome to The Hague, your host city during the Nuclear Security Summit to be held over the next few days. We are proud to welcome you and hope that you not only have a successful summit, but that you also enjoy a wonderful stay in our beautiful city. This leaflet offers you an impression of our city and what’s on the agenda during your stay.

It is not surprising that the summit will be held in The Hague. The city has a considerable reputation in the field of peace and justice, and it is the only city outside New York to house one of the principal organs of the United Nations: the International Court of Justice. Since the opening of the Peace Palace in 1913, some 160 organisations that are involved in peace, international law and security have become established in the city. This means that in The Hague we are working together for a safe and just world. For everyone. Now and in the future.

We wish you a wonderful stay!
