~ 2007 Snow-X Results ~

Nov. 24-26 Spirit Mountain Duluth National Snocross

Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN played host to the 2006-2007 season opening Snocross race for an unprecedented 15th time. The unseasonably warm temperatures tested the WPSA crew, but they were able to adapt the weekends schedule to the conditions and pulled off an awesome weekend of . The team hit the snow with a bang to start the season in the Semi-pro Open class, pulling in a top 5 finish in 11 of the 12 heats in which they ran. With great hole shots off the line and incredible speed and finesse through the bumps, Team Bauerly qualified 3 riders for the finals Saturday afternoon. Kurt, Chad and Paul all started the Semi-pro open final of 15 and battled some fierce competition mid-pack for much of the 16 lap feature. As the race wore on, Paul was charging hard and passed Chad midway through, working himself up into the 6 spot, while Chad continued his pace in 9th. Kurt was involved in a mishap off the start and had to charge from the back. At the finish of this grueling race, Paul crossed the line with a hard fought 6th place overall, Chad came in 11th and Kurt at 13th. In Semi-pro Stock competition the boys again charged hard from the start, pulling hole shots in most all of their heats and taking top 5’s again in 11 of 12 heat of qualifying. Kurt and Paul qualified themselves for the finals in the front row, Chad was close, but had to run the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) race to gain himself a spot in the finals, Ross came up just short of making that race as well. In the LCQ Chad again got off the line clean and up front, but after several laps of intense battle came up just short of the transfer to the main event. In the finals, Kurt came out of the first corner in 3rd place where he ran for most of the race, while Paul was hit off the line and had to charge from the back of the pack. As the final wore on, Paul charged forward and Kurt continued to battle up front, where they eventually would finish with Kurt in 6th place overall and Paul moved up to 8th out of the 15 who started the race. It was a great first weekend out for the team, being placed in the finals 5 out of the possible 8 times, winning several heats, no injuries or machine damage and a solid crew who will help carry this team on the road to victory this season.

Dec. 2-3 Park-X Non-points State Regional

Park-X race facility at Quadna Mountain Resort in Hill City, MN hosted the first event of the season for the MN State Snocross Series. Despite very warm temps early in the week, the Park-X crew was able to produce enough snow in 3 days to hold this event on what was a good sized track with great snow depth. The team started the weekend strong with all 4 riders in the Pro classes, which were really stacked with big competition, but they were able to hold their own and also learned to up the pace a bit as well. In the second round of qualifying Chad and Ross both ran into some bad luck. Chad was running up front off the line, but was landed on after going over the finish line jump, putting his machine out of commission for the weekend with some major tunnel damage. Then later in that same race, Ross was riding free and clear of anyone, but managed to land just a little awkwardly on his machine and fractured his leg in the process, ending his day early and putting him out for some time to come. We wish Ross the best for a speedy recovery, as surgery went well and he is home taking it easy. Kurt and Paul on the other hand, had an excellent weekend of results racing with the top level pros. In Pro Stock Paul made the front row of the finals, and as he did all weekend got off to a great start and ran up front for the entire 12 laps crossing the finish line in 4th place overall. Then in Pro Open, Kurt and Paul ran strong all weekend, both making the front row of the finals. At the start line, both got off the line clean and toward the front, but a first corner pileup left Kurt laying upside down, thus having to right side his sled and get going again as the rest of the pack began approaching. Paul again rode hard and smoothly, holding his positions up front for the entire race, eventually crossing the line in 5th place overall, with Kurt finishing out the order in 12th. Despite some bad luck for a few, the others had a great weekend running the pace and intensity of the seasoned Pros, showing some great speed that will be a factor in the weeks to come.

Dec. 9-10 Park-X State X-Games Qualifier

December 9-10, 2006 marked the second weekend of racing at the Park-X of Quadna facility, and the first weekend of points racing on the Regional Snocross Series. There was an abundance of snow and warm temperatures for the weekend, which made for an enjoyable weekend for competitors and fans alike. This event also played host to a Winter X-Games qualifying race, in which racers would run through several qualifying heat races to get to a final of 15 where the top 5 finishers would be invited to compete in Aspen, CO this January. Kurt and Paul both entered the X competition, and both were on pace to make the finals with great finishes and superior speed. In a qualifying round on Saturday afternoon, Kurt shot off the line and charged up the hill in 2nd place, until tragedy struck, his motor locked up unexpectedly, sending him flying over the bars and into the ground instantly. What looked too many like the worst high speed crash one could experience was luckily not as bad as it could have been, and Kurt is taking it easy with an extreme case of whiplash, ending his day and weekend as well as the chance for Winter X. Paul on the other hand, took over and ran superbly through qualifying and earned himself a spot on the front row in the final. In the final, which was an extremely long race, Paul charged hard each and every lap, and reeled in the front runners. He was on the bubble for the last 5 laps, sixth place, and charged closer and closer to a transfer position as the laps wore on. It was one of the most exciting races to watch in this teams career, and Paul did everything he could to get there. It came down to the last corner and straightaway to the finish line jump, where Paul cut underneath Kurt Crapo and the two had a drag race to the finish, Paul falling just a half a sled length short of making it to the ESPN Winter X-Games, but showing his speed and finesse along the way and opening the door to what should be and exciting and successful year for him. In the Regional Pro Class competition Chad and Paul did well, placing in the top 5 in every heat in which they ran, yet not quite enough top finishes to make the main event in those classes, but gaining some valuable points for the season ahead and running with the National Pros always helps the learning curve and speed for the weeks to come.

Dec. 30-31 Park-X State X-Games Qualifier

December 30-31, 2006 marked a packed weekend of competitions at the Park-X of Quadna facility, hosting the second weekend of points racing on the Regional Snocross Series. This event also played host to a Winter X-Games qualifying event, in which snocross racers would run through several qualifying heat races to get to a final of 15 where the top 3 finishers would qualify for winter X, as well as a qualifying even for the first ever freestyle event battling to be invited to compete in Aspen, CO this January. The crew put together a great track with lots of snow considering the recent weather conditions. Paul was the lone competitor for Team Bauerly for the weekend entering in the X competition as well as Pro Stock. In heat one of X-Games qualifying Paul started with a disappointing 8th place finish after a crash midway through the race. Needing good finishes to even make the last chance qualifier Paul stepped up and proved he had what was needed to get the job done with very impressive 2nd and 1st place finishes. In the LCQ paul shot off the line with a near perfect start and held on to a a nice 2nd place finish placing him into the back row of the final. In the final Paul got a poor start from the back row, but battled strong through the entire race, falling short of the qualifying position but still placing a well deserved and very impressive 5th place finish. In Pro Stock Paul ran strong against many of the top pros placing 3rd and 4th in the first two heats. Then due to weather conditions Sunday's final qualifying round and finals were postponed to be finished next weekend in Brainerd. After some great runs Paul once again showed he has the speed and skill needed heading into the rest of the season. Look for great things out of the team next weekend in Brainerd!

Jan. 6-7 BIR Northstar Snocross

The first weekend in January played host to the third round of racing on the MN State Regional Snocross tour at the famous Brainerd International Raceway. The staff at BIR along with the WPSA crew pulled off another amazing race in a winter of warm temps and no snow, and things went off great. Saturday made for a long day of racing as they ran the make-up races from the previously rained out Park-X Regional, where Paul made the Pro Stock final. In that race Paul didn’t get off the line in a desirable position, but was able to pick up some spots along the way and finished in 9th place. Then, on to the weekend of racing at BIR, and Chad joining the mix with Paul in the Pro Classes. Qualifying went well for the two of them, with Paul gaining the 2nd qualifier position for the Pro Stock final. Paul also qualified for the Pro 600 final and then both Chad and Paul qualified for the Pro Open finals. In Pro Stock, Paul again had some tough luck at the line, but picked his way up through the pack for a 7th place finish after the intense 10 laps. In Pro 600, gaining the holeshot he is known for, Paul paced himself and rode a very clean race to pull off a huge 1st place finish in front of the large Brainerd crowd. Finally to close out the weekend was the Pro Open feature. Chad and Paul both had to start in the back row, where they were able to position themselves well out of the first corner heading down the backstretch in about the 5th spot. Then, on the second lap Paul was taken out by another rider, which also held up Chad and a few other Pros as well. After getting going again the pair rode a hard race, with Chad eventually crossing the line in 9th and Paul pulling in a 10th place finish. It was a successful weekend overall, the Pro class was stacked with competition as usual, and the crew pulled in some great results.

Jan. 13-14 Polaris BIR National Snocross

Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, MN held a big weekend of national competition on January 12th-14th. The track featured massive airtime which is rather unusual on that size and style of track, which usually get very rough and holed out. Despite frigid temps, the races went great and spectators filled the stands each day. Saturday featured Semi-Pro Stock racing for the team where both Kurt and Paul put together some great runs. In qualifying Kurt ran strong for this being his first weekend back racing after his crash at Park-X finishing with two 4th places and a 2nd place finish placing him in the last chance qualifier. Paul ran very well all day with a 3rd and two 1st place finishes placing him directly into the final as the 3rd qualifier. In the last chance qualifier Kurt got off to a mediocre start and due to the horrible snow dust conditions he was unable to pass his way to the 5th place transfer spot. In the Final, Paul got off to a great start running at the front of the pack. As the laps wore on Paul was able to hold off the field and ran very strong battling up front for the entire race. At the end of the 14 lap final, Paul crossed the line in a hard fought and well deserved 3rd place podium finish. In Sundays Semi-Pro open racing the boys again battled the elements as snow dust was fierce and so was the competition. Kurt ran mid-pack through his qualifiers, placing him in the LCQ where he was unable to make the move to the final, but in all gathered up some good points toward the championship all weekend. Paul on the other hand again ran strong with several 3rd place qualifiers to get him into the LCQ where he was run very strong and transfer to the final. In the final, Paul ran hard each and every lap, eventually crossing the line with an 8th place overall, not bad considering he started in the back row. Another solid weekend for the team, with both Kurt and Paul maintaining their top 10 points standings in the series, and carrying the right momentum to move forward with the season.

Jan. 20-21 Park-X State Snocross IV

January 20-21 marked the 4th event of the season for the Park-X racing facility at Quadna Resort in Hill City, MN. The event was originally scheduled to be run at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN but lack of snow and warm winter temps forced the move up north. As always the track was large, very demanding, and put considerable distance between the racers who could figure out the rhythm of the hills. Paul had an excellent weekend of qualifying, he took 6 - 1st’s out of 9 rounds and easily made all 3 finals. Kurt and Chad both did well too, with several 3rd and 4th place finishes in qualifying, both also making the finals on Sunday. In the Pro Stock final, the boys ran hard, suffering a bit off the line and having to make up time, they completed the race with Paul in 4th place, Kurt in 6th and Chad in 8th overall. In Pro 600, Paul was the sole Ski-doo in the final, he rode hard and gave a great second half charge to bring home a 3rd place podium finish. In the Pro Open final all 3 were on the front row, Paul got a good start and after a few passes ran out front for the entire race, crossing the line with a huge 1st place finish. Kurt and Chad ran in tough battles throughout the entire race, eventually crossing the line with solid 5th place and 7th place finishes respectively. All in all it was another successful weekend of racing for the team against some fierce competition.

Jan. 27-28 Sportech Elk River Snocross

The fifth round of the MN State Snocross Series was held on January 28, 2007 at the Sherburne County Fairgrounds in Elk River, MN. Despite the low snow conditions the crew was again able to pull off this event with a small but exciting track. Chad, Kurt and Paul all ran in the Pro Classes, where they ran very well through qualifying, each placing themselves into the finals. In the Pro Stock final, Paul nailed the holeshot, and Kurt made a sweet second corner pass to move himself up into the two spot. Throughout the 12 lap feature, the two ran solid races, with Chad battling back in the pack. At the finish of the race, Paul crossed the line and threw a huge whip toward the crowd with his win, Kurt crossed the line in second, and Chad held on for a 6th overall. In Pro 600, Paul cruised through qualifying and into the final as the top qualifier. At the line he again nailed the holeshot and after a few close laps to start with, he began to pull away from the pack and pulled off another great victory. Then came the big race of the day, Pro Open, in which Paul was the top qualifier, Chad qualified in 3rd and Kurt in 4th. At the start, all 3 pulled great into the first corner, Paul holding a slight edge. The course was freshly groomed and the jumps were huge, Paul was the first to leap the triple jump on the backstretch with Kurt and Chad following in 2nd and 3rd. As the race wore on, Kurt was keeping pressure on Paul for 1st, and Chad never let Kurt out of his sights. At the 16th and final lap, the order remained the same, Paul crossed the line with another big win, Kurt found the podium with 2nd, and Chad rounded out the Team Bauerly sweep with a solid 3rd place finish. Thanks to a great crew, the team again had a stellar weekend and looks forward to continuing the success they are carrying.

Feb. 3-4 Wahtowan County Fairgrounds

St. James, MN played host to the first of two regional races to hit southern , where there was an abundance of natural snow to work with finally. The crew put together a great track with huge banked corners, the deepest base of the season and bright white ground everywhere, which despite the cold weather was a welcome sight. Chad and Paul made the trek down to compete with some of the big Pros once again, and they definitely held their own. In Pro Stock both ran through qualifying with all top 5 finishes placing themselves into the final. In the final, Paul got off to a great start, but started having machine troubles due to the cold weather and snow dust and was forced to pull off eventually to finish in 12th place. Chad, battled his way through the pack but was held up by a crash in a corner and eventually crossed the line in 10th. In Pro Stock 600 Paul again qualified for the final in which he ran a tough race battling all 12 laps back and forth with Jeff Snow. He managed to cross the line in 5th overall. Then in Pro Open, both Paul and Chad had some great qualifying runs placing themselves on top of the competition in the finals. Paul was the top qualifier after winning all 3 rounds and Chad qualified 4th after a pair of 2nd’s and a 3rd. At the line, both got a good start and were running in the top 5, Paul battling for 2nd and 3rd Chad in 5th. On lap 3 Paul was hit in a corner and flipped over, ending his run at a win, but Chad continued on for 12 solid laps in the brutal cold and wind, and crossed the line with a hard fought 5th place overall, Paul came out 9th. Despite the cold, the snow was great and the team fared well and is prepared to do battle next week at both Verona, NY and again at St. James as they split up for the first time this season.

Feb. 10-11 Wahtowan County Fairgrounds II

St. James, MN again played host to regional racing in snowy Southern Minnesota, about the only part of the state with snow. The crew again put together a great track with huge banked corners, an even deeper base and again snow in the pits which was a very welcome sight. The weather was perfect for the weekend, cold Saturday morning, but quickly warming as the sun was bright all day, and Sunday temps rose into the 20’s. Chad was the sole rider for Bauerly Racing, but he did his share and was quite successful over the weekend. In qualifying Chad started out with 2 – 2nd place finishes in round one, and followed that up with a 1st in round 2 and a crash in the stock class. After several hours of sled repairs Saturday night Chad and Cory got the machine ready for round 3 Sunday where he placed 3rd, but followed that up with another 1st in the open class. Chad was the 2nd qualifier for the Stock finals, and the top qualifier for the Pro Open final. In the stock final after a great start and first lap, he started having problems with the machine that were a result of the previous crash, and ended up landing a 4th place overall finish. In Pro Open though, Chad leapt off the line in first and never looked back, running in the lead for every lap and crossing the finish line with a big win. All in all the weekend went great, the weather was perfect, the track was great and the results speak for themselves.

Feb. 10-11 WPSA Eastern National

Turning Stone Resort and Casino hosts Round 3 of the 2006-2007 WPSA PowerSports Tour on Feb. 10-11 for the Eastern National in Verona, NY. With a full month of snowmaking and a great amount of natural snow the crew was able to put together a great track for racing action. Kurt and Paul both made the treck to NY to compete in the event. Saturday brought Semi-Pro Stock racing action for the team. In qualifying Paul start the day off with a bang with a first and a second place finish in the first two heats. In the third he ran into trouble getting tipped over in the 2nd corner and thus placing him into the Last chance qualifier. Kurt started the weekend off well with some solid finishes, but after getting flipped over in the first corner in the second heat Kurt was forced to join Paul in the last chance race. In the last chance qualifier both Kurt and Paul ran into trouble, both unable to cleanly get through the first two corners and were both unable to qualify for the final. Sundays Semi-Pro Open racing brought great races for both Paul and Kurt. Kurt ran some very good races with some very strong finishes but once again was just shy of the qualifying position and was forced to run the Lcq. Paul also ran well on sunday with 2-4th place and a 1st place finish putting him in a 4way tie for the last qualifying spot in the final. After losing the tie breaker Paul was again joining Kurt in running the Last Chance Qualifier. In the Lcq both Kurt and Paul got off to good starts, where Paul was in 3rd and Kurt was also near the front. Near mid way Kurt had a misfortunate off ending his day and his chances for the final. Paul held strong and finished 3rd qualifying him to the back row of the final. In the Final Paul got off to a poor start and was forced to fight from dead last. As the laps wore on Paul kept pushing hard and never faded working his way forward. At the end of the long 10 lap final Paul was able to pass most of the field ending with a very well deserved 6th place finish out of 15 riders. Another good weekend for the team with Paul maintaining top 10 point standing and Kurt within striking distance, the team is sitting great going into the next National snocross race.

Feb. 17-18 WPSA National Grand Prix de Val court

WPSA PowerSports Snomobile Tour (Feb. 17-18) made its stop in Val court, Québec for this years Grand Prix de Val court. With upwards of 3 plus feet of fresh snow and unusually nice temperatures the weather could not have been any better for snowmobile racing. With the huge amounts of snow the crew was able to put an absolutely great technical track together for the races to negotiate. Kurt and Paul both made the trip to Val court to race for the weekend. Saturday brought Semi-Pro Stock racing action for the team. In qualifying Paul start the day off with a bang with a dominant first place finish and Kurt followed with a solid 3rd place finish. In round two Paul ran into trouble when he shot off the track and got stuck off the side of the track ending in an 8th place finish. Kurt once again followed with a nice 3rd place finish. Round three Kurt followed and kept up with the consistency and finished with another great 3rd place finish. Paul rallied back from the 8th with a vengeance and finished with a very commanding 1st place finish. Kurt with 3-3rds and Paul with 2-1st and an 8th where both just short of the final transfer spot placing both of them into the Last chance qualifier as the first and second qualifier. In the LCQ both Paul and Kurt got off to good starts and ran strong through the whole race, but on the last lap Kurt ran into trouble and was taken off the track by an opponent leaving Paul as the sole Team Bauerly Racer in the final. In the Final Paul got off to a decent start considering he started from the back row. Paul battled his way forward the entire 10 laps and finished with a very well deserved and strong 8th place finish. Sundays Semi-Pro racing started off poorly for the team. Right off the bat in practice both Kurt and Paul ran into issues, Kurt who got into a bit of a pile up and Paul ended practice with a badly sprained ankle which made for a long day of racing. Kurt started the day off with a nice 4th place finish in round one, but in round two had an off in the middle of the race leaving him with a 7th. The team then found a broken and bent A-arm on Kurts machine and did a great job replacing that and getting the sled back to the line for round 3. In round three Kurt ran into more issues when he broke his throttle off going through the tough woop section. Paul with a sprained ankle ran the day as well as he could and finished with 3 nice 3rd place finishes which placed him as dreaded top qualifier in the LCQ. In the Lcq Paul got off to a poor start and deciding not to over use his ankle he made the decision to pull off the track and not risk further injury, hoping for a full recovering for the following weeks. After some great races and some disappointment, look for Team Bauerly to come out flying in the weekends to come.

Feb. 24-25 WPSA Eagle River National Snocross

WPSA PowerSports Snomobile Tour (Feb. 23-25) made its stop in Eagle River, for its first ever WPSA national event. The crew put together a great track with lots of snow and lots of rough technical sections, with the addition of mother nature dumping a few fresh feet of natural snow. Kurt and Paul made the trip to Eagle River to represent Team Bauerly Racing. Saturday brought Semi-Pro Stock racing action for the duo. Kurt and Paul both ran strong through qualifying but both were just shy of the qualifying spot and found themselves in the last chance qualifier. In the lcq Kurt got off to a good start with Paul following in tow. After the 4 laps were over both found themselves in the back row of the final. In the Final Kurt and Paul both came out of the first corner mid pack and ran there for the first few laps. About mid race Kurt got caught up behind a down rider and was stuck towards the back of the pack. After the brutal 10 laps of the final Paul finished with a nice 10th place finish with Kurt finishing in 15th. Sundays Semi-Pro racing brought some good races for the team. Paul ran some good races finishing with two 3rds and a 2nd place finish placing him directly into the final. Kurt also ran well through qualifying with a 2nd a 5th and a 6th place narrowly missing the LCQ in this tight field of racers. Paul got off to a good start and after clearing a huge quadruple jump on the first lap Paul found himself running in 5th place. After 10 laps and one small slip up, Paul ended up with a very impressive 6th place finish. Another great weekend for the team and another solid weekend for points look for the team to do great things at Canterbury.

Mar. 2-4 Canterbury Double National

Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN played host to rounds 8 & 9 of the Powersports Snowmobile Tour Championship series on March 2-4, 2007. Over a foot of fresh snow fell Thursday and Friday making for a wonderful weekend of Snocross. Friday brought Semi-pro Stock class racing to the track in which Kurt and Paul participated. Paul ran through qualifying with a 5th, 1st, and 2nd in his heats, and Kurt posted a 2nd, 6th, and 3rd. These results although good, put the boys as 1st and 2nd qualifiers in the LCQ. From the LCQ Paul transferred to the back row of the finals, where he battled it out for 10 laps and crossed the line with a 10th place overall. Being a double header weekend, once the final was over and a short break was had, the boys were out once again for another round of Semi-pro stock action. Paul started things off with a 1st in round one, and Kurt ran into trouble while leading his heat, crashing and getting a bit banged up, taking an 8th. Round 2 Paul came out storming once again and finished well with a 2nd. Kurt on the other hand took it easy for the rest of the day and crossed the line with 2 - 7th’s. In round 3 for Paul, he finished 5th, putting him once again in the LCQ where he eventually came up short of the transfer to the final. Saturday Chad joined the mix and all 3 ran in the Semi-pro open category. Paul had the opportunity to climb aboard one of the new REV XP race machines previously driven by an injured Warnert Racing rider. In qualifying Paul pulled off a 4, 1, 2 in his rounds and made the front row of the final, despite riding something way different and completely new. Kurt ran well with a 2, 4, 2 in his three rounds and also made the final. Chad, rode like he knows how, but just couldn’t find the speed to make the final round. It was his birthday that day and that could have been just the reason for a more casual ride. In the finals Saturday evening both Kurt and Paul got off to a good start, Kurt in 5th Paul just behind. Paul started a charge that was short lived as his sled began to act up, making it hard to clear all of the big jumps, but Kurt marched on and held into the 6th spot for 9 hard laps, before coming off just a half lap from the finish. The two would finish the evening with a 12th for Kurt and a 13th for Paul. On to Sunday, and a fresh track that was much more forgiving and fun to ride than the previous days, and again the Semi-pro Open class. Paul opted to ride his own steed this time around, and pulled off a 7, 2, 3 set of finishes. Kurt also ran with a 7, 2, 3 which put them both into the top 2 spots in the LCQ. Chad rode well, pulled a few hole shots and looked quick and smooth, but was one spot off from joining the other two in advancement. In the LCQ Kurt and Paul battled with each other the entire race for the transfer to the finals, but on the last lap a competitor took Kurt out in a corner and ended his chances, the other rider was black flagged for his actions, but Kurt was already out of contention. Paul on the other hand had a great shot out of the back row in the final and pulled up into the 7 spot where he rode his heart out and crossed the line 10 laps later in 7th. All in all the team had a good showing, especially if you look at the heat races, and 4 final finishes that all work well toward the year end points standings. Mar. 10-11 Wahtowan County Fairgrounds III

St. James, MN again hosted a full schedule of regional Snocross racing on March 10-11, 2007. The track still had an abundance of snow despite the temps in the 50’s, and the teams had the luxury of parking on blacktop at the fairground there so things worked out pretty well. Chad made the trek down with Scott Haala joining him for the weekend, riding for the injured Ross Bauerly once again. Both Chad and Scott had a great weekend, pulling hole shots in a majority of their heats. In the Plus 30 class Scott did well in qualifying, placing him on the line for the final in the 2 spot. In that final he again got off the line strong and swapped the lead back and forth each and every lap until finally securing the win at the line. Chad on the other hand had his work cut out for him in the Pro Stock class, where he took a 2nd, 4th and 4th in qualifying. In final though he shot off the line and into second where he would charge from on lap 2 to grab the lead and eventually ran away for a big Pro Stock win. In Pro Open, Chad ran undefeated all weekend, going 1, 1, 1 in qualifying and leaping off the line in the final once again to lead the entire race for another big win. It was a warm, wet weekend, but Team Bauerly came out with 3 big wins to show that they can perform well in any conditions.

Mar. 16-18 WPSA Nielsen Enterprises Grand Finale

Lake Geneva, WI (March 16-18, 2007) – The final stop on the Power Sports Snowmobile Tour was again held at the prestigious Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in beautiful Lake Geneva, WI. There was plenty of snow, a huge crowd on hand and the sunshine along with warm temps made it a grand event to watch. The track proved to be both technical and treacherous as many racers had their share of problems throughout the weekend, making it a great event to watch. With all of the usual class with the addition to the second annual Affiliate Championship Snocross race. On friday Chad took part in this event in the Pro open class and had lots of success. After the two rounds of qualifying Chad easily qualified for the 8 lap final. In the final Chad launched off to a great start. After a small slip Chad fell back to second position where he stayed for the rest of the race. After post race inspection the first place finisher was disqualified for technical reasons which gave the win to Chad. In Semi-pro Stock action, Kurt and Paul both ran some great qualifying races. Paul started his weekend strong with a first a 2nd and a 3rd through the three rounds placing him directly into the final. Kurt ran the three rounds with much consistency with two 4ths and a 3rd just missing the transfer into the final and being forced to run the last chance race. In the Lcq Kurt got a great start but on the first lap down the huge Geneva downhill Kurt got crossed up and came off his snowmobile ending his run for the final. In the final Paul got off to a mid pack start. After some great 1st lap passes he found himself in the top 5. After 8 grueling laps on the brutal Lake Geneva track Paul finished with a very respectable 6th place finish. In Sunday's Semi-Pro Open racing Paul again was asked to ride the new ski-doo Xp prototype sled. Throught qualifying both Kurt and Paul had some good runs and some big crashes. Kurt with some tough luck all through his three qualifying rounds with some sled issues and a big off in the 2nd round found himself just shy of making it into the last chance qualifier. Paul also with some bad luck with a 2nd place finish, a 3rd place finish and a spectacular crash in the second round found himself in the last chance qualifier. In the Lcq everything clicked and came off the line with a huge holeshot and ran away from the field qualifying himself for the back row of the final. In the Final Paul came out of the back row very well and was running well mid pack until he was tipped over by another rider moving Paul to the back of the field. With nearly half of the 8 lap race remaining Paul began his move foward. At the end of the 8 laps Paul finished with a very well deserved 9th place finish. Overall, a great weekend for the team, with two top 10 finishes in Semi-Pro racing, and a Pro Open affiliate Championship for Chad. As well as for Paul, as he was able to climb a bit further in the National Points Standings gaining an 8th place overall in Season Points in the Semi-pro Stock class and 11th place overall in the Semi-Pro Open class.
