5. Teaching Responsibilities

56 courses taught at UG level being Assistant Professor in two different colleges and 5 courses have been teaching at PG level. Besides that, counselling and classes were taken every year for 4th year students in Extension Education portion and Agriculture portion of JRF examination and mock tests in the subject was also conducted to evaluate students’ preparation.

Prepared 12 nos. of question papers as external examiner at UG and PG level of different universities (Visva-Bharati, WB; University, Medziphema; Tripura University; AAU, Jorhat) and also evaluated 5 nos. of M.Sc (Ag.) theses of , Medziphema.

9. Extension Activities

Under Matsya Varta project, 370 advisories (pull based) have been provided so far to the 2350 registered fish farmers under four districts of Tripura. Besides that, 65858 text, 23975 voice, and 2137 transactional messages have been pushed to all the farmers. Since commencement of the project in Sept’2019, as many as 10 awareness and sensitization programme, 2 need based training/demonstration/ for farmers have been conducted.

Under m4AgriNEI project, 4293 advisories (pull based) were provided to the registered farmers under West Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills districts. Besides that, 70 text and 26 voice messages were pushed to all the Garo Lab farmers. During the project period as many as 48 awareness and sensitization programme, 33 need based training/demonstration/ animal health awareness cum vaccination programme, 6 farmer’s exposure visits for farmers, 6 different capacity building programme for project staffs were conducted. 15 m4agriNEI farmers were facilitated for collection of soil samples to provide Soil health Card by ICAR KVK, Tura.

Drafted of the two Project Proposals for Application of New Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Dagal Gopgre village in Chokpot block under South Garo Hills District and at williamnagar under East Garo Hills District, which were approved and KVKs were started functioning.

Associated as a ‘Radio Anchor’ in ‘All India Radio- Santiniketan’ recorded more than ten programme, which were broadcasted under ‘Kishan Vani’ programme of AIR FM.

Conducted one day College Exhibition with other faculty member of the department in ‘Aahya’ Festival (Winter Festival) in 2009-10 at Chandmari Parade Ground, Tura, Meghalaya.

Coordinated the activities to prepare a water harvesting structure at Darak Akonggre (Adopted Village) in 2010-11 under the Central Government Sponsored Scheme of ‘Jalkund Project’ with the help of Department of Water Resources, Government of Meghalaya.

Constructed a ringwell in 2011-12 at adopted village (Darak Akonggre, Gambegre block), which was financially assisted by Prof. S.N. Puri, Former Honourable Vice- Chancellor, CAU, Imphal.

Conducted 3 days informal training as Co-coordinator for 20 participants on “Vermicomposting for Farmers” on 14-16 December’2009.

Organized “Farmers’ Day” on 08.12.2010 at village Darak Akonggre, Gambegre block as coordinator for 50 nos. of farmers and farm women.

Conducted a formal training programme as coordinator for two batches of Nokmas on “Agricultural Training Programme for Nokmas” on 1st-3rd March’2012 and 1st-3rd November’2012.

Organized the Giriraja Chicks distribution with HOD, under the supervision of former Director of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal, Manipur at Adopted Village (Darak Akonggre) in 2012, which was followed by training for the 50 nos. of villagers regarding rearing techniques of Giriraja chicks. Continuous monitoring of the status of the birds was also done.

Organized an ‘Interface Meeting with Line Departments Officials of West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya and faculty members at College of Community Science, CAU (Imphal), Tura, Meghalaya in October’2012. Worked as Co-Chairman, Pandal, Stall and Exhibition cum Shows Committee of North-East Agri Fair’2013 held on 19-21 March’2013 at College of Community Science, CAU (Imphal), Tura, Meghalaya and organized as many as nine different Agricultural Shows and Competitions and look after the works of pandal and exhibition stalls of the fair.

Coordinated the activities of Translation of CAU (Imphal) Farm Magazine in Garo Language for different issues of the magazine.

Organized the activities of Exhibitions as Chairman of Exhibition Committee during the visit of Dr. S. Ayappan, former Hon’ble D.G., ICAR, New Delhi on 26.3.2014.

Organized Two-Day Training Programme for Line Department Officials of Agriculture on “Climate Change- Its Impact on Agricultural Productivity and Livelihood” as Coordinator for 28 participants on 13th-14th Feb’2014.

Organized Three-Day Demonstration on “Mushroom Production and Transfer of Technology” for the Farmers and Farm Women of Upper Darengre (Adopted Village) as Coordinator for 30 participants on 5th-6th March’2014 and on 20th March’2014.

Organized two numbers of 3-days on-campus training programme on “Agri-Horti Based Technology” as Coordinator for 20 participants on 29-31 October’2014 and for 22 participants on 17th -19th Feb’2016.

Organized One-Day Demonstration on “Mushroom Production and Transfer of Technology” as Coordinator for 17 participants on 22nd December’2014.

Organized 2-days Off-campus Informal Training Programme for Farmers on “Scientific Fish Farming Practices in Garo Hills” as Coordinator at Okkapara on 29-30th July’2016 with 53 nos of registered farmers (36 male and 17 female farmers).

Coordinated the activities to bring 150 Kg CAU R1 variety of Paddy seed from Director of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal to distribute to the farmers of Garo Hills. On 2nd July’16 paddy seeds have been distributed to Twenty-two farmers at Allabagre and on 4th July’16 paddy seeds have been distributed to Nine farmers at Sangkarigre and also, training and demonstration was conducted to the registered farmers on cultivation practices on rice variety CAU-R1.

Coordinated the activities to select the 4 nos. of fish farmers of Garo Hills and sent to undergo three months vocational training on “Seed Production Technology of Carp, Magur and Giant Fresh Water Prawn” from 15/06/16 to 15/09/16 at College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Agartala, Tripura.

Organized One-Day Training on Bakery as Coordinator for 51 women participants on 14th December’2016 at Koinadubi village of Dalu block, Meghalaya.

Demonstration Programme on Pig and Organic Manure at Allabagre Village and Wakantagre Village on 29th Sept’16 and 13th Oct’16.

Organized Animal Health Awareness cum FMD Vaccination Programme in collaboration with Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Govt. of Meghalaya was held at Samandalgre and Allabagre on 26th April’17 and in Noagre and Noa-Bolsalgre on 28th April’17 and 180 cattles were vaccinated.

Prepared and complied the Package and Practices for Rice Crop in Garo Hills as asked by Directorate of Rice Development, Ministry of Farmers’ Welfare, GOI to prepare Crop Profile of Rice and overall development of Rice Crop at National Level, which was forwarded to Director of Research, CAU, Imphal, Manipur. Coordinated the Kisan Diwas celebration at College of Community Science, CAU (Imphal), Tura, Meghalaya on 23rd December 2018 as a part of Swacchta Pakhwada’2018. Assisted in organizing the Interface Meeting’2019 held on 2nd May’2019 at College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura and prepared the final proceedings of the Interface Meeting’2019 as a member of Rapporteur Committee. Assisted in preparing presentation of Proposed Action Plan of Extension Education Activities (2019-20), presented in EEC Meeting held on 28-29 May’2019 at College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura. Assisted as Co-chairman of Exhibition and Publicity committee for 19th National Fish Farmers’ Day’2019 Celebration at College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura on 10.6.2019, to organize meeting, prepared the budget for the committee and other preparatory works. Compiled and edited 15 ‘CAU Technology Inventory’ and 6 ‘CAU Technology Package of Practices’ of the technology generated in College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura in the prescribed format and submitted to DEE, CAU, Imphal, Manipur for publication. Facilitated the exposure visit of six senior officials of Directorate of Fisheries, Govt. of Assam at College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura on 1st Nov’2019. Participated as Team Leader for the team of College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura for participating in CAU Regional Agri Fair’2019-20, held on 11-13 Nov’2019 at College of Horticulture and Forestry, CAU (Imphal), Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh. Compiled and drafted four success stories of College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), Lembucherra, Tripura for onward submission to CAU, Imphal, Manipur. Organized a 5-day training programme at College of Fisheries, Lembucherra, Tripura, CAU (Imphal) on ‘Breeding of Gold Fish & Angel Fish and Aquarium Management’ from 03.3.2020 to 07.3.2020 and 33 participant attended the programme.
