*A CENTURY OF GREATNESS* A HUMBLE HADIYAH TO His Holiness Dr Sayedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb (TUS) ON th 100 MILAAD MUBARAK PREFACE Inspired by Author Mudar Patherya of Calcutta, I took the initiative to spread greater awareness of our beloved Dai-al-Mutlaq‟s greatness to Mumineen living in various Bilad Imaniyah thru the power of the internet. I am deeply thankful to him for his guidance and support. Moreover, I am also grateful for many Zikrs I have received from mumineen around the globe on similar instances that have transpired with them. I had made a niyyat of completing a total of 100 Moajizaas of Aqa Maula TUS by the time of the auspicious occasion of 100th Milad Mubarak (25/03/2011). I am truly grateful and thankful to all mumin-muminaat who have supported me towards this quest of presenting this humble Hadiyah to our beloved Moula…Moula aap aa Nacheez Hadiyah ne qabool karjo! Mumineen are encouraged to circulate these collections liberally. Let us all show the world the many Ehsanaat and Shanaats of our beloved Dai! May Allah Ta’alah grant our Moula a long and healthy life Ta Roze Qayamat - Ameen! I WISH ALL MUMINEEN-MUMINAAT & FARZANDO A GRAND MEAVI MILAD MUBARAK !! Mu. Ali Asghar N. Lehri Kingdom of Bahrain [email protected] Moula's Mojeza (1) Following interview of Shaikh Abdulhusainbhai Harianawala (Karachi) by Mudar Patherya (Calcutta): Around 1973, our family entered the business of textile processing in Karachi. Water represents the building block of this business. This qualification made the arid region of Karachi theoretically unsuitable for textile processing, unless if one enjoyed access to a robust municipal connection or one was sitting on top of an aquifer.

This millennium has seen rapid developments in the design of scopes, improved high-definition visualization systems, and a plethora of dedicated instruments. Many minimally invasive and endoscopic procedures have become the new “standard of care” today. Endoscopic third ventriculostomy and endonasal pituitary surgeries have replaced alternative techniques in most major institutes in the world and the indications are rapidly increasing to tackle many midline skullbase, intraventricular, and some parenchymal lesions as well. The scope of minimally invasive neurosurgery has extended to spine surgery, peripheral nerve surgery, and unique indications, viz. craniosynostosis repair. This review describes many of these developments over the years, evaluates current scenario, and tries to give a glimpse of the “not so distant” future.

Cadaveric Renal Transplantation : Bombay Hospital Experience Avinash.T.S, Shankarprasad, Umesh Oza, S.W.Thatte, A.L.Kirpalani, Bichu Shrirang Abstract Transplantation of human organs is one of the greatest medical breakthroughs of this century. In a developing country such as India cadaveric renal transplantation accounts for less than 1% of total renal transplantations. The reasons for such a low rate of cadaveric renal transplantation are many ranging from lack of awareness to socioeconomic reasons. We performed 11 cadaveric renal transplantation in our institute from November 2001 to January 2009. Age of donors ranged from 25 to 65 yrs. Mean cold ischaemic time was 6.5±1.4 hours. No patients had hyperacute rejection. 4 patients (36.5%) had delayed graft function requiring postoperative haemodialysis. Follow-up period ranged from 7 yr to 2 months. During 1 year follow- up 4 patients had (36.6%) acute rejection episodes. Patient survival at 1 year was 77.8%. Graft survival at 1 year was 85%. Mean creatinine at the end of 1 year was 1.9±0.2. Patient survival till current follow-up was 54.6%. Though our study is small, the incidence of delayed graft function requiring postoperative haemodialysis, acute rejection episodes were significantly less and graft survival rate at the end of 1 year was good. Thus cadaveric kidney transplantation is associated with satisfactory patient and graft survival. Creating a positive public attitude, early brain death identification, and certification, prompt consent for organ donation, adequate hospital infrastructure, and support logistics are prerequisites for successful organ transplantation. Introduction transplantation.1,3 The majority of these ransplantation of human organs is patients are young; their only hope to live T one of the greatest breakthroughs in better is by having organ transplantation.

  • Bombay Hospital, Indore
March 20, 2013 BOMBAY HOSPITAL, INDORE FINAL REPORT 1 INTRODUCTION BOMBAY HOSPITAL Bombay Hospital was established over five decades ago, in 1952, as a result of the enormous philanthropy displayed by Shri Rameshwardas Birla, Founder Chairman of the Bombay Hospital Trust. It began as a 440 bed hospital whose objective was, in its founder’s words, “to render the same level of service to the poor that the rich would get in a good hospital.” Today, the hospital has grown to house over 830 beds, some of the country’s most advanced diagnostic & surgical equipment, and offers a comprehensive range of specialized medical services. The objective however, remains unchanged, which is why 33% of the patients treated are in the general ward and pay only for their medicines and consumables. The free OPD at the hospital successfully treats in excess of 1, 00,000 patients each year. It is on this sound foundation that the hospital has based its pursuit of excellence in every field of medical specialization. This has seen fruition in the form of the Medical Research Centre now known as the M P Birla Medical Centre. The Bombay Hospital presently ranks among the finest multi-specialty tertiary level medical centers in the country. The internationally renowned panel of doctors and consultants in every field of specialization have, at their disposal, cutting-edge equipment. Supported by a highly trained and professional nursing staff Vision: “To render the same level of service to the poor that the rich will get in a good hospital” Mission “Bombay Hospital shall provide the best possible medical treatment, delivered most efficiently, in the shortest possible time, at minimum cost, to all sections of the society, irrespective of caste, creed or religion.” INDUSTRIAL VISIT TEAMS .
