Motion for Election to the Advisory Council of the Delhi Development Authority A motion for election of one member to the Advisory Council of the Delhi Development Authority was moved and adopted. 12-04 p.m. 7. Matters raised with permission (1) Shri Santosh Bagrodia raised a matter regarding putting a sticker on the forehead of a woman revealing her HIV status at a Government Hospital in Jamnagar. 12-06 p.m. (2) Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy raised a matter regarding demand to grant relief package to people displaced by floods in Kosi river.

Secretary-General reported to the House a Message from Lok Sabha informing Rajya Sabha that Lok Sabha at its sitting held on the 9th July, 2009, passed the Appropriation (Railways) No. 3 Bill, 2009. II. A copy of the Appropriation (Railways) No. 3 Bill, 2009, as passed by Lok Sabha, was laid on the Table.

Recommendations of the Business Advisory Committee The Deputy Chairman announced the recommendations made by the Business Advisory Committee at its meeting held on the 9th July, 2009. 5-57 p.m. 11. Special Mentions (1) Shri P. Rajeeve raised a matter regarding demand to withdraw the decision of merger of State Bank of India with its Associate Banks. 5-58 p.m. (2) Shri Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi raised a matter regarding demand to provide employment under NREGA to the people affected by famine. 6-00 p.m. (3) Shri Silvius Condpan raised a matter regarding need to review the regulations notified by CERC to fulfill the objective of ‘Electricity for all’ under the Bharat Nirman Programme. 6-03 p.m. (4) Shrimati Brinda Karat raised a matter regarding demand for providing solar lanterns in remote areas affected by ‘Aila’ in West Bengal. 6-05 p.m. (5) Dr. T. Subbarami Reddy raised a matter regarding demand to grant financial assistance to M/S MAS Holdings in Andhra Pradesh under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Project. 6-07 p.m. (6) Ms. Mabel Rebello raised a matter regarding demand to revive the public sector units involved in vaccine manufacturing to maintain the availability of vaccines in the country. 6-09 p.m. (7) Shri Rajeev Shukla raised a matter regarding demand to fill up vacancies of Judges to clear backlog of cases.

30454 6-11 p.m. 12. Statement by Minister Shri S.M. Krishna, Minister of External Affairs, made a statement regarding “Significant developments in our neighbourhood”. Thereafter, Members sought clarifications on the statement.
