Napier signed with Kraljevo in Serbia and is the latest former Saluki to take her talents abroad, joining Anita Scott (top left; Switzerland & Greece), Petra Jackson (top right; United States), Molly McDowell (middle left; Amersterdam, Holland, Germany), D.D. Plab (middle right; Ireland), Christine Presswood (bottom left; United States), Amy Rakers (bottom right; Japan) and Dyana Pierre (Finland, Sweden) as Salukis who have inked professional contracts. McDowell played 10 seasons abroad, winning three titles for the ProBuild Loon Lions in Amsterdam, Holland and is currently the team’s head coach, while Jackson was the 1995 MVP of the now defunct Women’s Basketball Association, playing for the Illinois Knights. Presswood, on the other hand, was drafted and signed by the Jacksonville Surf of the Women’s United States Basketball Association (WUSBA), only to have the league fold before ever playing a game. Pierre averaged 11.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in 11 contests with Aanekosken Huima in Finland and made 15 appearances later that year with Alvik Basket in Sweden.
