Dr. Rolandos Katsiaounis put together and edited the first edition of this work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the title "United Nations Security Council and General Assembly Resolutions on Cyprus 1960-2002". The present, updated edition, which includes relevant resolutions up to June 2006, retains the original format of the book as well as the editorial note to the first edition. The Press and Information Office, whose valuable contribution to the project is hereby acknowledged, published both editions of the book for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The United Nations adopted over 100 resolutions on the Question of Cyprus since the military inva- sion of the Republic of Cyprus by Turkey in 1974. The UN also adopted many other resolutions conce- rning Cyprus between 1960, when Cyprus became an independent state, and 1974. Most of those reso- lutions cover the period of inter-communal conflict on the island and threats of
