3.10 Additional Information

3.10.1 Download FireMapper

FireMapper is available on iOS and Android clients. For other platforms, you can use FireMapper Portal in the web browser for viewing and editing maps. FireMapper Portal is available for Enterprise users only.

FireMapper iOS iOS Requirements: • Internal GPS Receiver - (Wi-Fi only iPads do not include an internal GPS, so they will not be able to show your location out in the bush! Only the cellular model of the iPad and iPhone include a GPS receiver). • 32GB Storage or higher - so there is sufficient storage for photos and offline maps. • Screen protector and case - to help protect the device. Avoid magnetic cases as this will affect the magnetic field sensor in the device. FireMapper Standard can be purchased directly from the iTunes store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/firemapper/id865028094 FireMapper Enterprise requires an annual Enterprise subscription to use: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/firemapper-for-enterprise/id1447064437

FireMapper Android

Android Requirements: • Good Internal GPS Receiver - cheap tablets usually do not include a GPS receiver. FireMapper Android can not be installed on devices without a GPS receiver. There is a lot of variety of GPS receivers across Android devices. Look for a tablet that supports multiple satellite constellations (e.g. GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS), as this devices provide a better location fix, and less likely to drop out. • Camera - cheap tablets sometimes do not include a camera. FireMapper can use the camera to capture geo- referenced photos. • Digital Compass - also known as a magnetic field sensor, or hall effect sensor. This allows the device to determine which compass direction it is facing. This is used by FireMapper to determine the direction of a captured photo and for navigating. Some phones and cheap tablets do not include this. • Screen protector and case - to help protect the device. Avoid magnetic cases as this will affect the magnetic field sensor in the device. If you can’t see/download FireMapper on the store, it’s likely that your device may not meet the minimum requirements (e.g. no gps receiver, no camera). FireMapper Standard can be purchased directly from the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firefrontsolutions.firemapper FireMapper Enterprise requires an annual Enterprise subscription to use: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.firefrontsolutions.firemapper.enterprise
