MOUNTS - two minutes walk out of the gate to your left, keep walking towards the sea! Please remember St Michael’s Mount is closed on Saturdays.

GWITHIAN, , North Coast: 20 minutes drive. From the A30 take the turning from the Loggans Moor roundabout. Take the next right turn up the hill (B3301) on the mini roundabout after Lidl. Carry on up this road for 2 miles and the turning for Towans is on the left, on a right hand bend, also signed to Sunset Surf Cafe. The postcode if you have satnav is TR27 5BT

SANDY ACRES, St Ives Bay, North Coast: 20 minutes drive. From the A30 take the Hayle turning from the Loggans Moor roundabout. Take the next right turn up the hill (B3301) on the mini roundabout after Lidl. Carry on up this road for half a mile and look for a left turn signed ‘Sandy Acres Beach Car Park’. Follow this lane til you get to a Pay and Display; pay there, then drive on to the beach car park. No satnav we’re afraid as there are no buildings there!

PRAA SANDS, South Coast: 10 minutes drive.Drive east out of . Take the A394 and Praa Sands is clearly signed on the sea side of the road between and Perranuthnoe.. The postcode is TR20 9TQ

PERRANUTHNOE: 5 minutes drive. Drive east out of Marazion. Take the A394 and Perranuthnoe is clearly signed on the sea side of the road between Rosudegeon and Marazion. Follow the lane down, past the Victoria Inn pub on your right, and the beach car park is 200 yards further on. The postcode for the pub if you have satnav is TR20 9NP.

GYLLYNGVASE – Robert’s Choice This is a wide popular sandy beach on the outskirts of Falmouth. Parking and facilities are all nearby. Level access to Gyllyngvase Beach.

PENDOWER – James’ Choice Is the west part of a huge sandy beach about 1 mile long in Gerrans Bay. There is a slipway down to the beach. There are three car-parks. Dogs are allowed on the beach (on a lead) all year.

Godrevy Beach Trevor’s choice A sandy beach stretching from Gwithian Towans along the coastline up to Godrevy Point. At Godrevy there are many rocky sections but there are also good sandy patches. The coastline here is run by the National Trust. There are excellent views to Godrevy Island and across St Ives Bay on a clear day.

KYNANCE COVE – Bill’s Choice A picturesque cove with a pleasant sandy beach at low tide. The steps down to Kynance Cove beach are steep. There is National Trust parking a ten minute walk from the beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between Easter and October.

PORTHMINSTER BEACH ST IVES – Tegan’s Choice St Ives railway station. A sheltered ,north facing crescent of golden sands with views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy lighthouse. There are excellent facilities at the beach selling all kinds of beach accessories, deck chair large sheltered family beach with all facilities.

DAYMER BEACH ROCK Rock -Tania’s Choice Long stretches of sand and many sand . Views across the Camel Estuary. Refreshments available, short walk from car park overlooking the beach. All year dog friendly.

CRANTOCK BEACH - Tania’s choice. A pleasant sandy beach with a huge expanse of sand at low tide. There are also extensive dunes for all the family to enjoy. Very popular all year round with visitors

SENNEN COVE - Amanda’s choice A wide sandy beach which is popular with surfers and families. There are decent facilities and plenty of parking, but note there is a steep path down from the cliff car park. At low tide the beach stretches from Sennen Cove to Gwynver Beach. There is also parking at Gwynver but with a very steep path to the beach. The coast path can be walked south to Lands End for spectacular coastal views.

PORTHCURNO BEACH- Kate’s choice A perfect sandy beach + superb coastal scenery. There is a small flight of steps to the beach. The nearby Minack Theatre is well worth a visit. Pednvounder beach can also be reached via the coastal path, but note that access is difficult.
