  • PIT NEWS August 2020
Page 1 PIT NEWS August 2020 Editor: Donna Gross Next Meeting: TO BE ANNOUNCED A Few Words from the President’s Desk Here we are as another month goes by and the recreation centers are still closed. Unfortunately, we will not be having a meeting in September due to the COVID-19 virus. I will keep everyone updated as to when our next meeting will take place. My number one priority is keeping everyone safe and healthy. On a positive note, your board members are still meeting and planning for our return. We have arranged, with the Villages approval, to have an outdoor racing show at Brownwood Paddock Square on Feb. 1, 2021. At this time, we already have 17 exhibitors who have committed to be there. This includes two record-setting motorcycles, four drag race cars, two SCCA road race cars, plus many vintage stock cars and possibly current late models which Art Fehrman is currently working on. This will be a very enjoyable night for all and a chance for our club to be recognized. Please be sure to invite all your friends to attend. Let us keep supporting our local racetracks through these difficult times. Close by, we have Citrus County Speedway, Volusia Speedway Park, New Smyrna Speedway, Bubba Raceway Park, East Bay Raceway Park, Showtime Speedway and Auburndale Speedway. The Saturday night racing at all these tracks makes for a fun evening at a very reasonable price. As always, I am open to different ideas about things that you as a club member would like to do.
