    82 DIVISION I Tennis DIVISION I 2001 Championships Highlights Triple Threat: Georgia’s Matias Boeker enjoyed winning the team title so much, he captured the singles and doubles titles too in Athens, Georgia. Boeker earned tennis’ version of the Triple Crown during the 10-day tournament and a place in NCAA tennis history. The Georgia sophomore was a perfect 5-0 at No. 1 singles in the team competition. And he did not lose a set during his run for the individual singles title that culminated in a 6-2, 6-4 defeat of Virginia’s Brian Vahaly. Two hours after acquiring the singles crown, Boeker and Travis Parrott beat Southern Methodist’s Johan Brunstrom and Jon Wallmark 6-4, 7-5 in the doubles final. The only other doubles title for the Bulldogs came in 1983. Georgia also won NCAA titles in 1985, 1987 and 1999. Tennessee was playing in its second final and first since 1990.
