Dan Freene (b. 1973) is a cinematographer based in Australia. Dan began his career as a stills assistant back in Adelaide in 1993, He became a freelance commercial stills photographer in 1997 specialising in high concept portraiture and architecture. In 2001 Dan shot his first short film 'Onto’ and was instantly hooked into the moving image. In 2004 Dan started shooting commercials and in the past three years Dan has become one of Australia's hardest working commercial cinematographers shooting several hundred TVCs. In 2008 Dan shot the Sony Tropfest Winning Film “Marry Me,” and in 2009 Dan shot his first feature, Wasted on the Young, the debut feature of WA filmmaker Ben C Lucas, due for Australian release in 2010.
