The JUNOS at TIFF: Celebrating Canadian Music on Film

What: TIFF reunites with the JUNO Awards for The JUNOS at TIFF: Celebrating Canadian Music on Film, a showcase of the creative connections between music and film. Hosted by Matt Wells of MuchMore, the 2012 nominees in the category Music DVD of the Year will be highlighted with an evening of clips and conversations with some of the nominees.

JUNO Hoops

DATE: Thursday, March 29 Time: 7:30pm Location: Montpetit Hall, University of Ottawa, 125 University Street, Ottawa.

What: Second annual celebrity basketball game in support of MusiCounts, Canada‟s national music education charity associated with CARAS. Twenty players on two teams, including current athletes from this year‟s University of Ottawa men‟s and women‟s varsity teams, will compete for the JUNO Hoops plaque, now called the Dr. James Naismith Foundation Trophy, with MVP awards supplied by the same organization.

A special youth game is also part of this year‟s event, with two teams from the Gloucester Cumberland Basketball Association, the largest basketball club in Ottawa, taking part. And for the first time, we are excited to announce the first JUNO Hoops Slam Dunk contest, which will take place at halftime of the celebrity game.

Participating artists: former pro player and JUNO R&B/Soul Recording of the Year nominee JRDN, last year‟s JUNO Hoops co-MVP Ray Robinson, and Jason Simmons (aka Vocal Paint), 2012 JUNO nominee for Children‟s Album of the Year.
