Vice President DuBois said that he spoke individually with Board members and shared preliminary information on the administration’s proposal for a 4-6% increase in tuition and mandatory fees in advance of today’s meeting. He provided a more detailed presentation and said that the Board will have an opportunity to vote on the administration’s proposal at a special meeting of the Board on May 14.

    Tamron Hall Draws on Her Local Station Roots for New Talk Show 06.19.2019 Just a few months away from the launch of her new eponymous daily talk show, Tamron Hall connected with TV station executives on Wednesday at Promax Station Summit 2019, recalling her time as an anchor on local TV stations in Chicago and Texas. "The preparation for this daytime talk show did not come my years on the national news stage, it came from my time on the local level," she said while sharing a stage with Bill Geddie, creator and former executive producer of ABC's The View, who will executive produce her new daytime talk show. "When you are on a national news show, you are in a bubble -- you are. You can't win without the local news. Local news is more trusted than the national news."Â As part of the show's effort to connect with audiences in local markets, the show plans to incorporate technology that will let some guests join the show virtually. "We're working on technology where it looks like they are actually in the audience. It's all about making the show accessible," Hall said. The show is staffing up ahead of its Sept. 9 launch. Talia Parkinson-Jones and Andrew Scher have joined the show as co-executive producer and supervising producer, respectively. "Talia and Andrew are exceptionally talented production professionals, and we are beyond thrilled to welcome them to the Tamron Hall senior production team," said William Burton, senior vice president of daytime, sports and syndicated development/production, ABC Entertainment in a statement.

Mentally, the Orlando, Florida, mom felt up for the task, but financially it was a different story. An advanced degree would cost about $30,000, and Lynch, 37, would have to take out student loans to achieve her goal. After some thought, Lynch came up with a plan. She’d get a job as a public school teacher while juggling a full-time course load. Though she was a full-time student, “going back to work allowed me to start paying the loans back right away,” she says. Like Lynch, many Americans pursue higher education not after high school, but in later years when they have to juggle obligations such as children or a mortgage. Between 2005 and 2015, the enrollment of people 25 and over in degree-granting institutions increased by 13 percent, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. Between 2015 and 2026, NCES projects that number to increase another 8 percent. Potential benefits of going back to school include increased earning potential and improved quality of life, but the financial risks can be steep. Here’s how to make sure a degree later in life is a step forward rather than a step back: Consider the cost of education Ask yourself if the additional education will be paid off by greater earnings over the course of your career, says Michael Gerstman, a chartered financial consultant and CEO of Gerstman Financial Group in Dallas.

Hall -- along with Executive Producer Bill Geddie and Co-Executive Producer Talia Parkinson-Jones -- appeared at the summer gathering of the Television Critics Association in Beverly Hills to discuss her new show, eponymously named Tamron Hall. The strip premieres in syndication on Monday, Sept. 9, and notably, in the prime 10 a.m. ET slot after Disney's Live with Kelly and Ryan on top stations WABC New York, WPVI Philadelphia and WTVD Raleigh, N.C.  RELATED: Tamron Hall Draws on Her Local Station Roots for New Talk Show Hall's road to syndication began when she exited NBC in the wake of the hiring of Megyn Kelly, who was then departing Fox News. Kelly was given the 9 a.m. ET/PT slot on NBC -- also known as the third hour of Today -- and that was the hour Hall had been hosting with long-running weatherman and Today host Al Roker. "Whether Megyn was successful or not, I already knew [NBC] made the wrong choice when I walked out the door. I knew it was the wrong decision -- that's why I left," Hall told reporters and critics in the ballroom at the Beverly Hilton. "I didn't know what would come out of leaving that situation. I'm blessed and fortunate that this was the end result, and that Disney has given me this platform." After leaving NBC, Hall didn't immediately know what she was going to do next, but a talk show had long been on her mind. "I didn't know what form I would take as a journalist after I left NBC," she said.
