World Wrestling Entertainment Shows Support for Marriage and LGBT ChicagoPride.com News April 21, 2014 World Wrestling Entertainment shows support for marriage and LGBT equality By Ron Matthew Inawat April 21, 2014 https://chicago.gopride.com/news/article.cfm/articleid/55995529 STAMFORD, CT -- World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is going all out in showing its support for LGBT equality by teaming up with the NOH8 campaign, a charity organization whose mission is to promote marriage, gender and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest. WWE professional wrestler Darren Young came out publicly last year, making him the WWE's first openly gay wrestler. Today, with Rosser, many of WWE's most notable superstars and divas are proclaiming their support for equal rights by photos taken through NOH8 originator Adam Bouska's lens. "I am so honored to be a part of the WWE NOH8 campaign," said Fred Rosser aka WWE Superstar, Darren Young. "The most important thing is to be able to live your life the way you want to, truthfully. NOH8 makes that possible." Superstars and company executives from Chief Brand Officer, Stephanie McMahon and her Superstar husband, Triple H, to the cast of E!'s "Total Divas" joined the photographic protest campaign. "Our mission at WWE is to put smiles on people's faces and we do that, in part, by participating in initiatives that help fight bullying of all kinds," remarked Stephanie McMahon, Chief Brand Officer, WWE. "We are proud to support the LBGT community by taking part in the WWE NOH8 campaign," McMahon added. Comments on August 1, 2018 Planning Commission agenda items, received July 26-30 Items 1a/b, South Nashville Community Plan Amendment/Fairgrounds Mixed-Use District -----Original Message----- From: John Bernatavitz [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, July 30, 2018 10:30 AM To: Planning Commissioners Subject: Major League Soccer is what Nashville needs; so please support the proposed stadium! Dear Members of the Planning Commission, The 2018 World Cup said it all. What a great event! Nashville could also potentially share in the sport the binds the world together. I support the proposed Major League Soccer Stadium and renovation to the Fairgrounds Nashville. Professional sports teams in Nashville have turned into major brands that are recognized across their various leagues. The Predators not only hosted the NHL All Star weekend not long ago but are widely hailed as having the best home ice advantage in hockey. The Titans, on the heels of their incredible new uniform update ceremony, were selected to host next year's NFL draft at Ascend Amphitheater. Professional sports always have, and always will greatly benefit not only the neighborhoods where they play, but the city as a whole. I would ask that you seize this opportunity to make history with us and vote to approve this soccer stadium as well as the accompanying fairgrounds renovations. I recently went on a trip to Belize, and in the small village of Hopkins, Belize, I and my wife had the privilege of experiencing the World Cup final between Croatia and France with many people throughout the world in this village.

1 MEDIA EDUCATION F O U N D A T I O N 60 Masonic St. Northampton, MA 01060 | TEL 800.897.0089 | [email protected] | www.mediaed.org Wrestling With Manhood Boys, Bullying & Battering (Abridged Version) Transcript FANS: Welcome! Finally the Rock has come back to Springfield. You know, it’s good clean fun. Honestly, I wouldn’t let my son watch it. This is Austin’s middle finger. Too much violence. That and a lot of kids want to be like Stone Cold so they’ll drink beer. The female wrestlers, I think, are tremendous athletes. Big boobs and ripping each other’s clothes off. She’s a whore. Sometimes they get naked. The women are just their little playthings. The things they make them do, get on the ground and bark (barking sounds). That was pretty cool what they did to Trish. It’s promoting men beating on women. They want to come into the man’s world, they deserve to be treated just like a man. If a man is hitting a woman what is that showing the little kid? It’s not the WWF’s responsibility to raise them kids. It’s no worse than watching a movie or watching a soap opera or watching television. It’s entertainment. It’s entertainment. It’s just entertainment. I think it’s only entertainment, yeah. SUT JHALLY: You know it’s really difficult to get people to take professional wrestling seriously. Whenever I say that I’m working on this project on wrestling, people start smiling and laughing, almost as if to say “ how can you take this stuff so seriously.

134 th Commencement MAY 2021 Welcome Dear Temple graduates, Congratulations! Today is a day of celebration for you and all those who have supported you in your Temple journey. I couldn’t be more proud of the diverse and driven students who are graduating this spring. Congratulations to all of you, to your families and to our dedicated faculty and academic advisors who had the pleasure of educating and championing you. If Temple’s founder Russell Conwell were alive to see your collective achievements today, he’d be thrilled and amazed. In 1884, he planted the seeds that have grown and matured into one of this nation’s great urban research universities. Now it’s your turn to put your own ideas and dreams in motion. Even if you experience hardships or disappointments, remember the motto Conwell left us: Perseverantia Vincit, Perseverance Conquers. We have faith that you will succeed. Thank you so much for calling Temple your academic home. While I trust you’ll go far, remember that you will always be part of the Cherry and White. Plan to come back home often.
