While neither of the two works-supported Porsche 911 GT3 Rs could repeat the result this last weekend in Round 2 at Laguna Seca, one of the new cars did finish on the podium. www.porscheroadandrace.com California 8 Hours, Laguna Seca, 30 March 2019: The #912 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R was driven by Dirk Werner, Matt Campbell and Dennis Olsen Park Place Motorsports fielded the #911 Porsche 911 GT3 R, a new version of the stalwart GT racer from Stuttgart. In the cockpit of the #911 Park Place Motorsports car were Romain Dumas, Sven Müller and Mathieu Jaminet, while Dirk Werner, Matt Campbell and Dennis Olsen shared the wheel of the #912 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R, who were the winners in Bathurst. www.porscheroadandrace.com California 8 Hours, Laguna Seca, 30 March 2019: The #911 Park Place Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R was driven by Romain Dumas, Sven Müller and Mathieu Jaminet In qualifying at Laguna Seca, Matt Campbell (#912) posted the fifth quickest time in the pole shootout while Mathieu Jaminet in the identical (#911) secured eighth place. At the end of the 15-minute shootout, Campbell was a mere two-tenths of a second shy of securing a spot on the front row of the grid. In the morning qualifying session, Mathieu Jaminet posted the fastest lap time of the entire field, but he was unable to capitalise on this in the shootout. www.porscheroadandrace.com California 8 Hours, Laguna Seca, 30 March 2019: The #912 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Dirk Werner, Matt Campbell and Dennis Olsen, being hounded here by the rival BMW Facing the GT3 cars from seven other manufacturers, the new Porsche 911 GT3 R proved to have the most consistent pace over the distance, however the drivers were unable to fully use this advantage due to the lack of overtaking opportunities. The No. 911 car moved into the lead for the first time after around three hours of racing and the #911 Porsche even looked on course for a win, but after the pit stops it was often held up over long stretches by slower cars. As a result, this prevented the final driver Sven Müller from fighting for overall victory. www.porscheroadandrace.com California 8 Hours, Laguna Seca, 30 March 2019: Pit stop action for the #911 Park Place Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R which was driven by Romain Dumas, Sven Müller and Mathieu Jaminet Bad luck struck the Bathurst winners, as around the halfway point in the race, Dirk Werner pulled into the pits with a defective gearshift component. Until then, Werner had led the field over many laps, but as a result of this faulty component, the #912 Porsche was forced to retire early. Over the entire eight hours of the race, there were no incidents, no caution phases and not one safety car phase. www.porscheroadandrace.com California 8 Hours, Laguna Seca, 30 March 2019: Tyre change for the #912 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Dirk Werner, Matt Campbell and Dennis Olsen Patrick Lindsey (team owner Park Place Motorsports) said after the race, “From unloading the vehicles at the track to the chequered flag, our team did a super clean job. The drivers drove an immaculate and impressive race. We absolutely deserve this podium result. The collaboration with Wright Motorsports worked brilliantly, and this synergy resulted in two very strong cars in the race. For this reason, I’m very sorry that the number 912 car had to retire early.” www.porscheroadandrace.com California 8 Hours, Laguna Seca, 30 March 2019: The #912 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Dirk Werner, Matt Campbell and Dennis Olsen From the driver’s seat, Romain Dumas (#911) had this to say, “A podium spot is really good, but more would have been possible. It was a tough fight over the distance and we weren’t far off a win.” www.porscheroadandrace.com California 8 Hours, Laguna Seca, 30 March 2019: The #911 Park Place Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R driven by Romain Dumas, Sven Müller and Mathieu Jaminet put in a fine performance to finish third John Wright (team boss Wright Motorsports) gave this response, “The combination of the two American customer squads, Park Place Motorsports and Wright Motorsports, worked excellently. The result of this intensive and open cooperation was very obvious in the pace of the two Porsche 911 GT3 R at Laguna Seca. Of course, we’re disappointed that the race ended early for us. We would definitely have had a good chance of winning.” www.porscheroadandrace.com California 8 Hours, Laguna Seca, 30 March 2019: The #912 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R was driven by Dirk Werner, Matt Campbell and Dennis Olsen Following their early retirement, Dirk Werner (#912) said, “It’s really disappointing. We’d fallen behind at the beginning and had to work our way up through the field and I was leading at the halfway mark when the defect occurred. Our car was very fast, the team worked perfectly. We could have controlled the race from the front, but unfortunately we couldn’t reap the rewards of our good work this time.” www.porscheroadandrace.com California 8 Hours, Laguna Seca, 30 March 2019: Romain Dumas, Sven Müller and Mathieu Jaminet put in a faultless performance in the #911 Park Place Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge: Round 2 race result Pos. Donau, August 25, 2019 – Jubilation in Japan: Kelvin van der Linde/Dries Vanthoor/Frédéric Vervisch celebrated victory in the 10 Hours of Suzuka, which makes for high suspense in the title race of the world’s only GT3 racing series before the finale in November. Frédéric Vervisch, in third position, is now only six points off the top spot. Christopher Haase/Christopher Mies/Markus Winkelhock were running in second position until the last hour of racing before dropping back to seventh due to a delayed refueling stop. “By clinching victory in Japan, Audi Sport Team WRT as well as the drivers delivered an impeccable performance in this crucial phase of the championship,” says Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing. “As a result, following a difficult start to the season, we put ourselves in the best possible position.” In the early phase, the number 25 nogaro blue Audi R8 LMS, whose color and number are reminiscent of Audi’s first RS model 25 years ago, held its ground in third position. While several strong rivals lost their chances early due to accidents and penalties, Audi Sport Team WRT avoided making any mistakes.

Press Release February 2, 2019 Qualifying, Intercontinental GT Challenge, round 1, Bathurst/Australia Good starting position for Porsche at the Bathurst 12 Hour Stuttgart. Porsche will tackle the 12-hour race in Bathurst (Australia) from the fourth grid row. Porsche Young Professional Matt Campbell set the seventh quickest time in the Top 10 shootout on the Mount Panorama Circuit. The young Australian tapped virtually the full potential of the Porsche 911 GT3 R, which he shares with factory driver Dirk Werner (Germany) and Porsche Young Professional Dennis Olsen (Norway). Up against stiff opposition from seven other GT3 manufacturers, Campbell took just 2:03.186 minutes to lap the 6.213-kilometre racetrack in the No. 912 Porsche. In the previous two qualifying sessions, Frenchman Mathieu Jaminet narrowly missed out on being eligible to fight for a top ten grid spot in the sister car run by the EBM (Earl Bamber Motorsport) customer team. On his hottest lap, the Porsche Young Professional was just 0.08 seconds shy of a top ten place. The No. 911 Porsche 911 GT3 R, which Jaminet shares with the works drivers Romain Dumas (France) and Sven Müller (Germany), takes up the race from twelfth on the grid. Factory driver Kévin Estre planted the identical ca. 500 hp car fielded by the Competition Motorsports/McElrea Racing customer squad on 13th place. The Frenchman is joined in the cockpit of the No.12 vehicle by Porsche Junior Jaxon Evans (New Zealand) and David Calvert-Jones (USA). The Porsche 911 GT3 R campaigned by the North American customer team Black Swan Racing sustained irreparable damages in an accident during Friday’s free practice and is unable to take part in any further race activities.
