314 Mr. Leo Ortego, who invented helicopter, lived in Alexandria, Louisiana after World War I. He patented it in U.S. Patent Office and held patent for 17 years. He planned to improve and get a copyright that would give him an additional 20 to 24 years. But brain surgery in Houston was fatal. However, during World War II, he gave patent papers to Joe Dellmon and he sent them to Army Ord. to use. Army Ord. sent papers back giving preference to a private company for for completion.
