Timothy Clarke Graduate: Associate Degree of Arts, Business and Sciences/Diploma of Community Services Work, Sunraysia Institute of TAFE, Swan Hill Campus ‘I completed Year 12 in 2010 and I was attracted to the associate degree because of the flexibility it offered me. I was able to stay in the area I grew up in and study in a comfortable environment. This relieved me of stresses such as moving away, starting a new job, forming a new social group and so on. The associate degree also gave me the option to study and earn credits which reduced the amount of time I’m now spending on my Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology) which I began studying in 2013. I chose to study the associate degree full time because I really wanted to complete it and move into the psychology degree. I want to become a qualified psychologist and help people through the hardest times in their lives.’ Sample course structure^ Associate Degree of Arts, Business and Sciences (Health Studies)/Diploma of Community Services Work Year/Level 1 Trimester 1 Learning for a Knowledge Society E-Literacy for Contemporary Learning TAFE diploma units Trimester 2 Work and the Sustainable Society TAFE diploma units Year/Level 2 Trimester 1 Understanding Health TAFE diploma units Trimester 2 Health Information and Data TAFE diploma units ^ This sample course structure should only be used as an example.
