LAST TIME OUT – LSU 113, REINHARDT 80 The Tigers shot 59 percent from the field (46-of-78) and 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from the arc in scoring half point totals of 57 and 56 in the win over the NAIA school from Waleska, Georgia. Reinhardt, which came in 4-0 on their young season, shot just 35.2 percent overall (25-of-71), but 13-of-27 from the arc. That put Reinhardt at 12-of-44 from inside the arc. Junior college transfer Duop Reath led the way with 26 points and 13 rebounds, while Brandon Sampson

2016-17 LSU MEN’S BASKETBALL had 19 points, Antonio Blakeney 17 points (9 assists), Kieran Hayward 14 points, Skylar Mays 13 points (8 assists) and Wayde Sims 11 points. CAREER LSU outrebounded the Eagles, 59-30, and had a 23-8 advantage in assists. The turnover situation was DOUBLE-DOUBLES something the Tigers will have to address with 21 turnovers in the exhibition contest. ANTONIO BLAKENEY (1) THIS TIME OUT – THE WOFFORD TERRIERS Game Date Pts Reb.. This will be the first time the Tigers and Wofford have met on the basketball floor … The Terriers are 2015-16 (1) from the Southern Conference where they tied for third in the league last year at 11-7 … Fletcher Magee was McNeese 11/13/15 22 10 a pre-season Southern Conference all-league selection. BLAKENEY LOOKS TO START AS HE FINISHED Antonio Blakeney ended the 2015-16 as a member of the All-SEC freshman team and will enter the 2016- 17 season as a member of the pre-season All-SEC second team as selected by the media covering SEC media days recently in Nashville. Blakeney was averaging 9.5 points a game 22 games into the season, including the first nine SEC games ... Over the final 11 games, all against SEC teams, Blakeney raised his averaged 3.1 points a game with six games of 20 points or more including 31 against Mississippi State off the bench and 32 in a starting role against Florida. Blakeney started the last 10 games of the season, 24 total ... He posted 52 three-pointers and made 89-of-119 at the line (74.8%), including 31-of-the-last-32 (with a streak of 28 straight that lasted into the final game of the season).

SAMPSON LOOKING BACK ON AUSSIE TRIP Brandon Sampson showed in the exhibition that his hard offseason work was paying off as he made all three 3-point attempts in scoring 19 points Monday night … That’s the type of play that he showed prior to his freshman season when the team traveled to Australia in August 2015 for five games. Sampson, who prepped at Baton Rouge’s Madison Prep, averaged 25 minutes a game on the Australia tour and finished averaging 11.8 points per game. He made 12 treys in the five games.

THEY ARE STILL PAYING ATTENTION IN AUSTRALIA A couple of tweets from basketball magazines in Australia were noting LSU basketball on Tuesday and while that may seem surprising after the NBA’s No. 1 pick Ben Simmons had his “One and Done” year in Baton Rouge, but the Tigers have the Australian connection going strong and both had great efforts in the exhibition win over Reinhardt. Junior college transfer Duop Reath had 26 points and 13 rebounds with four blocks while freshman Kieran Hayward had 14 points including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Reath hails from Perth, Australia, but was born in South Sudan. His family moved to Australia at the age of nine to escape the civil war in the Sudan. Hayward hails from Sydney.
