This week's program was a club assembly with many of the directors reporting to the club. Paul McDonell reported on the weekend Mustang sales. Director Mike Davidson reported that Mustang sales are running more than $10,000 above last year's campaign at this point. He also mentioned that a new songbook might be available soon. Past President Wayne Schnabel reported that the lunch committee has selected Mamma Maria's as the caterer for the Rotary Club and that meal fees will increase by $1.50 in the near future. Director Charles Seaman, responsible for the membership committee, reported that we have received 10 new members in the last 3 months. With more members expected shortly, there will be another orientation meeting in November. Membership retention is also receiving attention from this committee. His duties also include the banquet and this year’s 71st banquet, with guest speaker Joseph Caron from Pain Court, will be held on October 20th. Proceeds from this year's banquet will be directed towards the Polio Eradication program. Past President Rick Bodnaruk gave an update on his role as webmaster and also updated the members on the work of the Rotary Foundation. Tom McCarthy asked for a motion to send $5000 from our club for Pakistan Relief Fund, to be matched by the Canadian government. This was approved and members are asked to contribute $2,500 towards this amount. Director Paul Mayrand informed the club that we currently have 2 inbound students, 4 outbound students, an interact club at Chatham Christian School and a RYLA program. Director Mike Pestowka brought the proposed budget to the club. After discussion, both the budgets for the Service Fund and the General Fund received approval.
