    REPORT OF THE WORK AND FOWLER FAMILY MISSION Belo Horizonte - Brazil /November 2019 Dearest family, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ, Many of you ask us continually how we are doing physically. We decided to answer everyone en masse. Through all of our struggles we have done what we could. Many people tell us that we need to slow down and let our health improve in order to do what we are doing. If that were our attitude we would still be in bed, with others waiting on us hand and foot. We have only been able to improve because we kept going and doing what was (and still is) hard to do. Before LaJuana had back surgery to correct a pinched sciatic nerve, she experienced grueling pain at every step. She was finally able to do spinal fusion in March 2019 to separate the disks that were pinching the sciatic nerves. It seems that that problem was resolved, but she still has terrible back pain at times. She continues to seek professional help to find and correct the problem. When Eddison came out of herniated disk surgery 4 ½ years ago he was unable to raise his foot off the bed and sustain it; control the left and right, and up and down movements of his feet; navigate his legs; urinate and defecate; lie on either side and raise his top foot off the other one; or sustain his body while on foot. Standing alone was unimaginable. Praise God for wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, walking canes, catheters, adult diapers, laxatives, Activia, probiotics and natural fibers! Praise Him also for brothers and sisters in Christ who understand and truly love and care for those in need.

    Análise Econômico-Financeira dos Clubes Brasileiros de Futebol 11ª Edição Demonstrações Financeiras de 2019 Versão Atualizada – 29/07/20 - Correção da Dívida do Cruzeiro - Correção dos Gráficos de Projeção do Inter Diretoria Geral do Atacado Julho/2020 Sumário 2 Apresentação O relatório anual do Itaú BBA sobre as finanças dos clubes brasileiros de futebol chega à sua 11ª edição. Recordo que o primeiro relatório foi praticamente uma “versão beta” para consumo interno que acabou se transformando neste acompanhamento anual. O segundo relatório foi publicado em Novembro de 2011, já no final da temporada. A dificuldade em fazer as análises era grande, o modelo contábil particular e os ajustes infinitos. Com o tempo as padronizações foram melhorando e muitos clubes entenderam que era importante encaminhar dados bem explicados ao mercado. O tempo de entrega do relatório foi diminuindo. Mas nunca conseguimos a façanha de entregar relatório uma semana depois de publicados. Padronizar 27, 28 balanços e fazer os diversos ajustes, pensar nas comparações, ler e reler notas, tentar conciliar dados muitas vezes inconciliáveis nos toma tempo. É o preço por buscar o melhor resultado. Um ponto que atrapalha é o fato dos clubes terem até 30 de Abril do ano seguinte para publicarem suas demonstrações financeiras. É ruim porque nessa altura os campeonatos estaduais estão acabando, os elencos do ano já foram formados em grande parte, e analisamos informações que já são defasadas. Entregar o relatório no final de julho tampouco nos agrada, e para o ano que vem trabalharemos para que o processo seja mais rápido. Para complicar, em 2020 vivemos uma pandemia que fez com que alguns clubes atrasassem a divulgação e outros nem a fizessem, amparados em legislação que lhes permite seguir dessa forma.

Abstract In recent years, Latin America has witnessed ever-increasing intraregional migration flows in the context of growing political and economic integration and the tightening of migration policies in the developed world. Despite the rising importance of Haitian migration to Brazil over the past decade, few studies have explored the characteristics of Haitian migration to the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Area (RMBH), the third largest urban agglomeration in Brazil. This study seeks to fill these research gaps by: i) providing a comprehensive demographic profile of the Haitian migrant population in the RMBH, ii) analyzing the evolution of their labor market integration over the past eight years, and iii) investigating the role and characteristics of their migration motives, routes, connections with their place of origin, and/or employment- related connections and support. This analysis was conducted by triangulating data from three sources: the Centro Zanmi, an NGO that assists Haitian migrants in the RMBH; SINCRE, obtained from the Brazilian Federal Police; and the Relação Anual de Informações Sociais (RAIS), obtained from the Brazilian Labor Ministry.

    JORNALISMO DISPUTA JUDICIAL ENTRE GAMA E BOTAFOGO POR UMA VAGA NA SÉRIE A DO CAMPEONATO BRASILEIRO DE 2000 GABRIEL CAETANO ROMOALDO DE SOUZA Resumo A disputa judicial pela vaga na Série A do Campeonato Brasileiro de 2000 tomou proporções mundiais, colocando em evidência a Sociedade Esportiva do Gama, clube até então pouco conhecido no futebol. A situação teve início no Campeonato Brasileiro de 1999, quando foi descoberta irregularidade na documentação do atleta Sandro Hiroshi, do São Paulo Futebol Clube. O Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas e o Sport Club Internacional entraram com um recurso no Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (TJD) para reaver os pontos das respectivas partidas disputadas contra o São Paulo no torneio. Foi usada uma Resolução de Diretoria Interna (RDI) da Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) para dar ao Botafogo e Internacional os três pontos da partida, infringindo o artigo 301 do Código Brasileiro Disciplinar de Futebol (CBDF), criado pela Portaria nº 328/87, do Ministério da Educação (MEC), onde estava previsto que nos casos de irregularidade o clube infrator perderia cinco pontos, sem alteração no resultado da partida. Como o Botafogo havia perdido e o Internacional empatado com o São Paulo, o TJD não poderia ter concedido a pontuação aos clubes. Os pontos ganhos pelo Botafogo e Internacional influenciaram diretamente no rebaixamento. Caso fosse seguido o Código Brasileiro Disciplinar de Futebol (CBDF), o rebaixado seria o Botafogo, mas com a decisão do TJD, o rebaixado passou a ser o Gama. O clube do Distrito Federal decidiu questionar a legalidade do julgamento na Justiça desportiva, sem sucesso, levando em seguida a Justiça comum, alcançando o objetivo – disputar a primeira divisão do Campeonato Brasileiro – após longos nove meses de batalha.

(Bergard, 1999, p. 81) In fact, the name “Minas Gerais” is Portuguese for “general mines.” Even today, long after its gold reserves have been effectively exhausted, mining constitutes Minas Gerais’ largest source of wealth (though agriculture provides the largest source of employment), due to its supply of iron ore. Brazil’s fourth-largest State in terms of area, Minas Gerais is second only to the State of São Paolo in terms of the size of both its population and its economy.     Redemocratização e futebol: Copa União de 1987 e a sua memória Rafael Gustavo Frazão Fernandes da Silva* Era 05 de novembro de 2014 e eu me encontrava com dois amigos em um bar em São Gonçalo para assistir ao segundo jogo da semifinal da Copa do Brasil daquele ano entre Atlético-MG contra Flamengo, a ser realizado às 22h em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. O jogo, naturalmente, era cercado de expectativas pelo seu caráter decisivo e pela relevância de um campeonato nacional. No jogo de ida, a equipe carioca obteve uma boa vantagem ao vencer por 2 a 0. O Atlético-MG, que jogava em casa, para se classificar precisava vencer por uma diferença de 3 gols. Esse fato deu um apelo maior ao jogo. Da parte da torcida rubro- negra, a confiança na classificação para final era grande. Da parte da torcida atleticana, a equipe vinha de uma classificação diante das mesmas circunstâncias adversas e acreditava na repetição da campanha. A partida se inicia com a adrenalina que se esperava, com a equipe mineira tomando a iniciativa do ataque. Enquanto o Flamengo, a pequena amostragem da sua torcida que eu tinha, mantinha-se apreensiva. E assim foi até mais da metade do primeiro tempo. Até que o Flamengo em um contra-ataque marca um gol, aumentando a sua vantagem. Os presentes no bar explodem de alegria e em meio a empolgação, um dos meus amigos se manifesta: “Eles sempre tremem contra a gente!” Certamente ele lembrava dos jogos decisivos entre as duas equipes, especialmente nos anos 80, quando eram duas das equipes mais fortes do Brasil e chegaram a sucessivas decisões.
