Former RIT standout defenseman Chris Tanev, the 2010 AHA Rookie of the Year is in his sixth NHL season with the Vancouver Canucks. Tanev Goals and former Tiger Steve Pinizzotto (2005-07) were teammates with Vancouver in 2012-13. Tanev made Garrett McMullen - 1 his National Hockey League debut with the Canucks at Colorado on Jan. 18, 2011. He became the first former RIT player to appear in an NHL contest. Tanev has played in 230 NHL games with 10 goals and Assists 48 points. He has an assist in four games and is plus-5 this season. On March 24, 2015, Tanev signed Caleb Cameron - 1 a five-year, $22.25 million extension to stay in Vancouver. Tanev tallied 28 points (10-18-28) and was Abbott Girduckis - 1 plus-33 in 41 games for RIT in 2009-10.
