Arlington 8-28-21 Race 1 #1 MORRISTON (D) (Stalker) Arlington 8-28-21 Race 1 #1 MORRISTON (D) (Stalker) Made some progress from just off the pace when second over the track and distance three weeks ago in his second start since being claimed by Stephen Asmann. Dark bay has a record of 4-2-2-0 on this oval and Asmann won with one of his last six runners in claiming events. Son of Hampton Court is ranked first on BRIS Prime Power and can be in good position throughout with Perez retaining the mount. #6 GRAND HIDEAWAY (D) (Closer) Comes off a third-place finish in an even effort over 5 furlongs facing better on grass one week ago. Gray won two of his three previous starts on this Polytrack and trainer Gulick has won with 24% of his runners at this meet. 4-year-old can be running late with Tavares riding. #3 CRANKSHAFT (U) (Speed) Faded to finish fifth after vying for the early lead over 5 ½ furlongs in his latest this month. Trainer Silva has had a rough meet but gelding has a record of 10-1-1-3 on this oval and can be on or near the early lead with apprentice Lopez in the saddle. #5 RAHFEE TOWN (E) (Presser) Faded to finish unplaced ovder the track and distance at this level in his latest this month in his first start since being claimed by Hugo Rodriguez. Chestnut has hit the board in two of his four starts on all-weather tracks and Rodriguez has won with 19% of his runners at this meet. 6-year-old can be in the early mix with Felix remaining aboard. #4 PACHI (E) (Stalker) Comes off a well-beaten fourth-place finish over the track and distance at this level this month. Trainer Perez wins with 12% of his claimers and gelding has won one of three starts here and can be stalking the early pace with Camacho in the irons. #2 RENEGADE BOB (U) (Closer) Rallied from just off the pace when defeating easier at this distance at Fairmount three weeks ago. Trainer Hughes has won with just 7% of his runners at this meet and dark bay takes on better here and failed to hit the board in four previous starts on this oval. Race 2 #5 STAR ON THE MAP (D) (Presser) Gave way to finish unplaced after showing some early run in his debut over 5 ½ furlongs in a maiden special weight event in his debut here eight days ago. Son of Liam’s Map cost $70K as a yearling and trainer Rivelli wins with 19% of his second-time starters. Colt figures to be in the early mix and tough at this level with Loveberry up. #1 VITALE (E) (Stalker) Comes off a well-beaten second-place finish over 5 furlongs in his debut here early this month. Trainer Block wins with 22% of his runners in maiden claiming events and son of Overanalyze is a half-brother to four winners. Bay can be a factor with Lopez retaining the mount. #6 BIRDMAN RICHIE (1st Starter) Debuts for trainer Rivelli, who wins with 28% of his first-time starters and son of new sire Noble Bird is a half-brother to three winners. Chestnut has been working forwardly and is likely ready for a decent first outing with Baird in the saddle. #8 MEATABALL (D) (Closer) Was not a factor when unplaced in a maiden special weight event over 1 1/16 miles this month in his third outing and second after a short break. Trainer DiVito wins with 13% of his runners going from a route to a sprint and dark bay can be trying to close under apprentice Lopez, who has won with one of his last four rides for the barn. #3 LIFE IS GRAND (E) (Closer) Did not threaten when a well-beaten fourth of five runners in his debut over 5 furlongs here earlier this month. Trainer Delong wins with 18% of his second-time starters and son of Can the Man could show more with Tavares remaining aboard. #4 LAYTON THE DAY (D) (Presser) Second from the Delong barn tries the Polytrack for the first time off a weakening third-place finish after vying for the early lead over 5 furlongs at Fairmount a few days ago. Colt has hit the board in three of five starts and can be a pace factor with Camacho riding. #2 ERUDITE (1st Starter) Newcomer by 11% first-out sire Exaggerator is out of a mare by Half Ours, whose offspring win 14% of their first outings. Chestnut’s works are on the light side and trainer Dorochenko wins with just 3% of his first-time starters. #7 ACHILLES (1st Starter) Second debutant from the Dorochenko barn is by 12% first-out sire Lookin At Lucky. Colt’s works are also average and is also best watched in his first outing. Race 3 #4 BOOM BOX (E) (Closer) Closed to narrowly missed when second over the course and distance at this level in his latest this month. Gelding has a record of 29-6-7-7 on this turf and trainer Reid has won with 11% of his runners at this meet. Chestnut figures to get a solid pace to close into with Uske retaining the mount. #7 MONGOL BULL (E) (Speed) Held on to win his latest after leading from the start over the course and distance in his latest this month. Trainer Rainwater wins with 29% of runners that won last time out and son of Hard Spun has won eight of his 17 starts here. Bay can be on or near the early lead under Perez, who has won with four of his last nine rides for the barn. #2 W W KAN DO (U) (Speed) Weakened to finish fourth over 6 furlongs after leading early facing easier at Fairmount in his latest last month and tries turf for the first time. Trainer Wilborn has won with 22% of his runners this year and gelding should take to the surface being by Kantharos. Gelding can be part of a fast early pace with Ulloa remaining aboard. #1 EASTER MUSIC (E) (Stalker) Weakened when sixth over 5 ½ furlongs on the main track in his latest at this level this month. Chestnut won one of his four previous starts on this turf and trainer Hernandez won with four of his last eight runners making this surface change. 5-year-old can be stalking the early pace with Baird riding. #3 GREELEY’S ICE (E) (Presser) Faded to finish unplaced at this level over 5 ½ furlongs on the main track in his latest this month. Dark bay failed to hit the board in two previous starts on turf and has not won in a long time. #5 DUMBMARK (U) (Stalker) Has not raced since making progress to finish third over 5 ½ furlongs on the main track over one year ago. Dark bay has a record of 9-1-3-2 on this turf but may just need this outing. #6 RIPE ATTACK (D) (Stalker) Gave way to finish unplaced over the course and distance in late-July. Trainer Swearingen wins with 10% of his claimers and dark bay can be near the front early but has failed to win in five starts on turf. Race 4 #3 JUJU’S SPECIALGIRL (E) (Presser) Was prominent from the start when winning her latest over the course and distance at this level this month. Chestnut has a record of 15-3-4-2 on turf and trainer Rivelli wins with 34% of his runners that won last time out. Daughter of Winslow Homer can be in good position from the start with Loveberry retaining the mount. #7 STORMY EMPIRE (U) (Stalker) Was reclaimed by Frank Kirby when drawing off to defeat easier by over eight lengths at Fairmount in her latest early this month. Kirby has won with 13% of his runners at this meet and 5-year-old hit the board in two of six previous starts on turf. Mare can be near the front early under Sanchez, who has won with two of his last four rides for the barn. #6 FIRST SQUADRON (U) (Presser) Hit the board in two of her four previous starts on turf and led from the start when defeating easier on the Polytrack over 5 ½ furlongs in her latest eight days ago. Trainer Cook won with two of his last 17 runners that won last time out and mare can be in the early mix with Gallardo riding. #1 HEY HEY (U) (Closer) Was not a serious threat when sixth over the course and distance in her latest eight days ago but has a record of 8-1-3-1 on this turf. Trainer Candelas has won with 8% of her runners at this meet and daughter of Haynesfield can be closing late with Perez again in the saddle. #2 NICE AND TRUE (E) (Presser) Weakened when fourth after vying for the early lead over the course and distance at this level in her latest this month. Daughter of Square Eddie has won three of her 16 career starts and trainer Gulyas has won with 11% of runners this year. Dark bay can be a pace factor with Uske retaining the mount. #4 STRAIGHT UP SMARTY (U) (Stalker) Stablemate of the top selection was not a threat when unplaced over 7 furlongs at Mountaineer in her latest a few days ago. Rivelli wins with 25% of his runners on grass and mare has won five of her 17 starts on this turf.
