(A) GENERAL GUIDELINES

 The application form is to be submitted ONLINE latest by10.2.2012 through the Kashmir University Websites: www.kashmiruniversity.net&www.kashmiruniversity.ac.in against Rs.450 [per-form/ per-course] to be paid through pay-in-slip favouring J&K Bank Finacle Account No: 0007010100002714.

 A copy of the auto generated application form, complete in all respects, and including following documents, should be submitted in the office of the College Development Council latest by10.03.2012.

(i) Matriculation Certificate for Date of Birth; (ii) Marks Card of class 12th Class (Higher Secondary Part ii) (iii) Category certificate (if any) Issued by the

Competent Authority; (iv) Permanent Residence Certificate/School last attended.

 A desirous candidate can apply for more than one Programme/Course.

 The eligible candidates are required to opt for any of the three courses within their own District/Geographical zone only.

 While filling the application form/s, the candidates are required to indicate the choice of the Govt./Non-Govt. College/institution including the name.

 As a special case, the eligible candidates from Ladakh division can apply for B.Sc-IT Programme in the S.P. College,Srinagar.

 The selectees failing to join the allotted college/s by or before the last fixed date shall forfeit the right to admission, and the resultant vacancies shall be filled on the basis of counseling .

 The admission of the eligible candidates shall be on the basis of the marks obtained by him/her in the last qualifying examination (10+2) level.

 The date of counseling shall be fixed immediately after the last fixed date in the 1st admission list, and a separate notice shall be issued for the purpose.

 The Admission shall be done on-the-spot on the first-cum- first basis. However, on the date of counseling, the candidates shall be required to get along with them a bank draft on account of Tuition Fee [100% in Government Colleges] and 50% [in Non-Government Colleges], favouring Dean, College Development Council, University of Kashmir, Srinagar. However, the said fee shall be excluding the University fee/s, which the candidates shall be required to pay through their concerned Colleges.

 The Counseling shall entitle the candidates to reselect the College of their choice but in their concerned geographical zones/ districts or the schools they attended last.

 The University shall endeavor to allot the candidates in the College of their choice. However, they can’t claim admission in a particular college as a matter of right.

 The admission so made shall be notified in the press not by name but the concerned form no., which the candidates should remember in their own interest.

 The admissions shall be made in the Colleges strictly as per their approved intake

 The fee structure shall be strictly as per the latest notifications issued /to be issued by the University and the Higher Education Department, J&K State, from time to time.

 In their own interest, the candidates should stay in constant touch with the office of the College Development Council/ University website and the local dailies. They shall not be intimated individually in above regard.

DURATION OF COURSES & ELIGIBILITY

1. [i] BBA: (i) Duration of Course: Three Years (ii) Eligibility: Candidates from , including Ladakh, having passed class 12th (Higher Secondary part II) examination with Science, Arts or Commerce subjects from J&K Board of School Education or any other board/institution equivalent thereto, with 50% in case of Open Merit and 45% in case of reserved category at the 12th class, shall be eligible to apply.

2. [ii] BCA: (i) Duration of Course: Three Years

(ii) Eligibility:

Candidates from Kashmir Division, including Ladakh, having passed class 12th (Higher Secondary Part II) examination with Science, Arts or Commerce subjects from J&K Board of School Education or any other board/institution equivalent thereto, with 45% in case of Open Merit and 40% in case of reserved category at the 12th class, shall be eligible to apply.

3. [iii]B.Sc-IT: (i) Duration of Course: Three Years

(ii) Eligibility:

Candidates from Kashmir Division, including Ladakh, having passed class 12th (Higher Secondary Part II) examination with Science, subject from J&K Board of School Education or any other board/institution equivalent thereto, with 45% in case of Open Merit and 40% in case of reserved category at the 12th class, shall be eligible to apply. 10

Mode of selection

The selection of the candidate for admission to the above programmes shall be on the basis of their marks in the last qualifying examination (Higher Secondary Part -11). In case of two or more candidates have same marks in the aforesaid examination, their merit shall be decided by their individual marks in the Matriculation Examination. While processing/finalizing the admission list, the University shall take into consideration the following:

(i) Location of the College in the concerned District/Geographical zone; (ii) Choice of the candidate for the college in the concerned District/Geographical zone; (iii) Intake capacity of the College in the concerned District/Geographical zone; (iv) Marks obtained by the candidate/s in the Higher Secondary Examination Part 11; and (v) State Subject Certificate/School last attended.

In addition to above, each-student shall be required to pay other types of fee as per the notification/s issued /to be issued by the University and the Higher Education Department, J&K State, from time to time. 11

Reservation of Seats

The reservation rules of various categories under SRO 126, dated 28.06.1994, issued by the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir shall be followed for grating admission to the eligible candidates in above courses. The candidates seeking admission under the reserved categories must attach a certificate issued under SRO126. “Under Process” certificates shall not be entertained in any case.
