Singapore Women’s National Team: Head & Assistant Coach 2016/2017 - Job Description Singapore Association has entered the Women’s team into the World Floorball Championships Qualification 2017. Up to four (4) teams from the Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation will qualify for the World Cup Finals in December 2017. The constant growth of player numbers in the last couple of years means that the depth of players is bigger and the level of skills is improving quickly.

Singapore Floorball Association is committed to further improve and strengthen the Floorball performance of the Singapore National Teams. Therefore Singapore Floorball Association is looking to engage an experienced and passionate Floorball and coaching support Team – Assistant Coach & Team Manager) for the Women’s National team for the campaign of the 2017 World Floorball Championships Qualification. The head coach / assistant coach will lead, train and coach the team from September this year until the Qualification Tournament in 2017 or the World Championships in Dec 2017.

As a driven coach you will easily demonstrate your ability to lead and inspire a dedicated squad and leverage your experience, knowledge and skills of all that is required to be successful in Floorball. You will become a vital part of Singapore Floorball Association and be integral to the development of the in the near future.

The successful applicant will have:  A real passion for Floorball and the development of individual players as well as a positive team culture and spirit  A strong dedication to work with young and developing players and help them become a strong part of future National teams  A proven track record in coaching and playing Floorball at a high level  Registered with Sport Singapore NROC (National Registry of Coaches )  An excellent knowledge of Floorball skills, techniques and team tactics  Effective and confident communication skills to work effectively with players, squad, manager and other stakeholder  A positive and supportive attitude to inspire and encourage all players

Trainings will be in the form of weekday / weekend training sessions and individual training days spread over several months.

The Head Coach & Assistant Coach is expected to prepare training plans for local players and assist in preparing fitness and conditioning regimes for individual players.

Job Description Role: Women’s National Team Head Coach / Assistant Coach Reports to: Singapore Floorball Association Works with: Singapore Floorball Association Committee National Team Manager Other coaching and team staff Players (and for any underage players also with parents)

Job purpose: The purpose of this role is to further develop and strengthen the performance of the Singapore Women’s National team. This involves working with individual players as well as developing effective team tactics and strategies.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  Plan, prepare and deliver training weekends and training days for the National team. This includes preparing team based and individual training plans for the time between training days/weekends.  Select the final Women’s National team (maximum of 20 players) out of the training squad in conjunction with Team Manager and High Performance Sub-Committee.  Communicate regularly with players, setting appropriate goals and targets for individuals to work on in their own time or with their respective Club teams.  Liaise and communicate with clubs and their coaches to identify suitable talent to be included in the training squad.  Lead and coach the Singapore Women’s National team during the World Floorball Championships Qualification Tournament in 2017, with the aim to qualify for the World Cup Finals in December 2017.  Provide coaching expertise or mentoring in the areas of; individual skills (ball control, shooting, passing), team tactics and fitness.  Continue to facilitate the development of a positive team culture.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:  Coaching of Floorball (theory and practical coaching certificate, First Aid, strength & conditioning knowledge, etc.)  Successful Floorball coaching and playing experience at a high level, with good tactical knowledge of modern Floorball styles  Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to players, team and a wide range of stakeholders  Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor interactions to achieve desired outcomes  Strong passion and commitment to develop individual and team floorball skills  Ability to work independently and as a team member and cope within a changing environment while achieving goals  Commitment to meet player’s needs; and  Commitment to continuous quality improvement.

Singapore Women’s National Team: Team Manager 2016/2017 - Job Description The Team Manager is the primary point of contact between the National team and SFA. They must possess, Good leadership skills, Good communication skills and Good organisational skills with ability to facilitate the team’s best performance. SFA will support the Team Manager by providing appropriate assistance to enable them to carry out the role through active guidance and training.

GENERAL  Team representative/spokesperson  Active promotion and recruitment of players to team.

PRE GAMES  Book training venue with SFA and hold trials.  Provide contact details.  Assisting coaches to select squads in accordance with selection policy.  Conduct and attending all training sessions (with the guidance of coach where relevant).  Coordinate team administration requirements.  Liaise with staff and participants on all matters relating to team and event participation.  Support staff in ensuring that all team members have submitted a signed Participant Agreement and medical form to SFA by due date.  Coordinate team arrangements for travel and accommodation in liaison with SFA.  Circulate regular information and updates to all team members.  Attend all meetings as requested.  Organise any sport specific equipment.

DURING GAMES  Travel and stay with team at events.  Inform all members of the team, the time and place for the first team meeting at the venue.  Attend the Team Managers meeting prior to competition to collect competition draws and any other information on behalf of the team.  Ensure all team members are fully aware of team requirements including travel itinerary, accommodation, match times and team duties.  Set a positive example for behavioural standards and adhere to Code of Behaviour.  Ensure team duties are completed. Coordinate and delegate duties to team members as required.  Liaison with SFA as required.  Ensure all athletes have signed in correctly and on time prior to competition.  Provide reports and results to SFA as requested.  Act as a spokesperson for the team if approached by media and as per SFA media policy.  Notify SFA on any incident that may reflect poorly on any team member, sport or Singapore.  Notify SFA on any emergencies and/or any serious player injuries and complete incident report form.  The TM has responsibility for the team on and off the field. Overall responsibility however rests with SFA. The TM is also responsible for the discipline of the team on and off the field including whilst travelling to and from the event.

POST GAMES  Provide SFA with a report on team behaviour and performance at the event within two weeks of completion of the events.  Ensure team has fulfilled on obligations contained with SFA participant Agreement  Ensure athletes are informed of any post-event function.
